Stayed two weeks (13-27 april) for our wedding.
First, bring good walking shoes because it is big!
Food: the 7 à la carte restaurants are excellent, but the steak house (bubas) and asian are the best. Buffet is quite resonable, but in two weeks only went twice. It is a first come , first served system (unless you are at the lady hamilton), but not much wait if you go before 6:30 pm.
Beaches: average, but great for snorkling.
Staff is very polite (for jamaica). People that were complaning, seem to think that they own the resort! Remember, they are trying to acomodate over 900 peoples.
The main pool is incredible, with the pool bar and two other bars near the pool. The music is always playing and animation work hard, but if you want to relax, go to one of the two isolated pools (one is for adults only)
Spas 5*, but expensive
Rooms 4* and very clean, and yes the fridge is filled every day.
There are a lot of stores at the resort, and the prices are very similar to shoping in negril. But for rhum, rhumcream, cofee...buy it at the airport on the way back, it is cheaper (and does not count in your lugage weight)
Shows every night at the main stage and infinity bar. Talking about the infinity bar, it is the best. Great drinks, close to the restaurants, but the best is the sunset. Dont pay to go see it in negril, it is free at the resort, and as nice.
For the people getting maried, the planning is great, and there are no bad suprises when you get there, everything is as planed. One small detail that could be better. When meeting the wedding planer, we expected to be received with a glass of champaigne, or at the least cold drinks, but this was not the case. It is a special day and should be treated as such. This being said, the ceremony is awsome.
The wifi is free at the loby, but is often long to log on. Internet at the loby is 4$ for 30 minutes, and they also have calling cards at 20$ for 22 minutes.
Bring american money. Dont change it to jamaican, you lose to much. There is a ATM on location that gives american or jamaican, but is sometimes empty.
If you decide to go to rickys bar or margaritaville in negril, bring lots of cash because it is expensive. (nacho 19$ and beer 7$)
This is a good 4 to 4 1/2* resort. If the price is right, don't hesitate. This is also a great place for kids of all ages.
