“Perfect loved every minute”
Reviewed August 11, 2010

BULA reading some of the reviews which werent very flattering, I wasnt sure what to expect. The drive from nadi to the naviti is 90 mins which to some might be long but to me i loved to see the scenery and the all the villagers. The resort was perfect, people so
friendly, kids club unreal for adults and kids, food great and definitely the all inclusive is the way to go. My family are planning to go back within the next 2 years. The atmosphere is relaxed as you are in fijian time. I dont have a bad word to say about the naviti, if you are going to relax and enjoy yourself with your family the Naviti is definitely the place to go.

Went as this is a "sister" resort to Le Lagon in Vanuatu and we'd had a great stay there. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Long drive (2 hours) to get there. The grounds are nice and the rooms OK. Beds comfy. AC noisy.

They don't have enough towels/bathmats/facecloths etc to go around so even if you ask the cleaners for something you can't get it. They do an OK job of cleaning but kept taking towels away when you'd probably prefer an old one to none at all. The staff seem generally bored (with a couple of notable exceptions) and "Fiji time" is beyond a joke here (much worse than the other couple of places we visited in Fiji) - it took over 20 mins to get a juice on morning when there were 4 staff standing at the bar and we were the only patrons in it. They won't let you wait at the bar for your drink so you have to wait for them to bother to bring it over.

The beach is rubbish. There is no toilet at the pool and I certainly didn't see the punters getting out to go and find one. That included the 2 Aussies that parked themselves in the pool at the bar and did vodka shots all day from 10 a.m. And yes there were drunken Aussies who seemed to think staying at the bar was too hard and enjoyed yelling and screaming outside the rooms at 1 a.m.

Went for a dive with the SPAD dive that comes to the resort - terrible experience. Seems they chose a dive unsuitable for the experience of the group they were taking so for the second dive just dropped us out on the beach for a 7m swim. Could have seen just as much on snorkel. Expensive and poorly organised. Dropped us back at the beach where we had to carry all our gear up a long track covered in rubbish and old nappies to get picked up. Not exactly what you expect when you pay $530 for 2 people to do 2 dives!

On a better note - the food was pretty good. Good range and pleasant buffets. The a-la-carte was nice but disappointed as to how expensive some of the dishes were especially as we had paid for "all inclusive" (over $50 for lobster meal). They have a great habit of not telling you if something has run out untill after you order it. And things ran out a lot. Went next door to a wee restaurant called "Vilisities" (also has accomodation) and had a superb meal for half the price of the Bamboo restaurant.

Seems like the kids were having fun in kids club. Was a bit sad to see the odd toddler dancing with drunken parents at 11 p.m. still. And then everyone wonders why the kids are tired and misbehave all day!

We would go to Fiji again but never to Naviti.

I have been reading over the reviews as i am heading back there again next year in march. I am shocked that quite of few people did not enjoy there stay. Now i could sit here and write that we had a bad time because we were on lock down as we were there when tomas hit. But no i really loved it there yes we had a few issues toilet needed to be fixed took a little bit of time but none the less done yes the tv was not that clear but hey who is there to watch tv i took my laptop to up load photos as i went and also had my hard drive with me in case i wanted to watch a movie when i went to sleep. We as a whole really enjoyed the food all meals to be true the first few days i did feel i was using the lou a bit more than normal but in saying this i could of also ate to much i get that in melbourne as well when i go to all you can eat. We were on the newer side room was nice nothing flash but we were only in there to change close and sleep. The baby sitting unreal its cheap they were very nice and doen all they could for our kids. Kids club just ask Chelsea she will let you know how good that was and how many friends she made while there. Now as i am writing this review and so just want to be there but it will come around soon enough. See Ya Soon Navita :)

The naviti is a great destination for a family with young childrent(in our case 20mths,5yr old twins and nearly 8) particulary on a budget, the all inclusive is definately the way to go.we arranged a private transfer from nadi $110aus well worth the money our driver took us to some shops in nadi at our request to get some milk for the baby etc.we also visited a prouds store where pandora jewellery is 30% cheaper than aus. we had 2 interconnecting rooms which are a bit dated but do the job.on our first 4 days we all got sick and we stopped eating at the downstairs buffet restaurant.Eat breakfast and lunch upstairs and definately go to the chinese restaurant it is better than most of the chinese restaurants in melbourne we ate there 3 out of aour last 4 nights.the pool is great especially the swim up bar,not heated though which affects the adults more than the kids there is a lot of activities, my kids particulary enjoyed the kayaking.get hair braiding done at the village next door in the house with the blue roof. The staff at the naviti are so friendly and helpful and we had no probs waiting for our drinks or food after all you are on fiji time,we also never encountered any problems with drunks or noise.if you have kids i would definately recommend the naviti if you have no kids and want to be closer to the islands for day trips stay somewhere nearer to nadi this is a familt freindly resort after all.

We have just got back from the Naviti....what a fantastic holiday!
We read every review about this place...and went to the NAVITI knowing and understanding that it was not a 5 star holiday...so just don't expect the 5 star touches...and you will have an amazing time...
Firstly ...the people at the NAVITI make it a great holiday...
Kids Club...first rate! ...we have a 2 year old, 6 and 8 year old.... The 2year old we had a babysitter and she was so amazing (please tip them, they do an incredible job for less than $3 AUD per hour)....we paid 20 - 30 fijian everytime (even if it was only for 2 hours), just because she was awesome and for the peace of mind that our kids were safe.
The facilities were excellent...the pool was terrific...
Look, if you want the ideallic Fijian white sands holiday...go to the islands where you will pay a lot more...and its a different style of holiday...
The Naviti is all about the Pool...not the beach...but the Pool was worth it! The swim up Bar is fabulous....
If you want an incredible holiday with your kids at a bargain price....then this is the place!!
I want to address the 2-3 negative issues which came up a lot on this site...
1. The food - The Naviti is geared to provide for 300 - 400 guests per day, so operates on a buffet type system in its main restaurant. This means that meals get cooked on Mass... the buffet was nice, but better meals are served in the Bamboo restaurant where it is more Alacarte and meals are cooked individually. Overall, there was always something nice to eat..the buffets were that big, you could always find something....
2. The apparent Drunk Aussies - We did not find this at all....of course people made use of the all day open bar, but because this place is geared for families, we did not see drunken Aussies all the time. Mind you, we did not stay at the bar after 11pm (and it is about this time that i think you may see evidence of this...but that's pretty normal i reckon)
We found all the families really nice, and if you dont enjoy a nice beer or wine at lunch or throughout the day, then dont go.
3. The Service - yes there is such a thing as FIJI time...the locals even use this term....but do you know something...you are holiday!!!!!relax,,,,whats the rush ....we waited sometimes 10-20 minutes or so on occasion for a beer sure....but who cares....on most occasions, certain bar people would remember our drinks from before and we would not even order....SWEET!
So...in summary....this place is cool....budget.....great for families.....go into it knowing what you are paying for ...and you will have a beautiful time...
Hope this helps...we will be back sometime in the future!!!

If you have a family with kids that want this, then they want that, then the Naviti is the place to go for a family holiday. . We drove there from Nadi after driving around most of the island to see other sites and dropped our van off at the Naviti. We took the shuttle bus back to Nadi for our flight out the next day. Stay in Nadi the night before you fly out otherwise its an early start from the Naviti to get your midday flight from Nadi and is very tiring, We stayed 8 nights at the Naviti and loved all it had to offer It was weird not paying for meals or drinks and not getting a nasty bill at the end of the trip. Many choices of restaurants to choose from so you dont get bored. The breakfast is humungous and there is just soooo much choice. IF I had to fault it, its that the waiters/waitresses take forever to bring your order back, a few times we were still waiting for drinks when dinner had already been finished. Go to the bar and get the drinks yourself, if they let you. All staff is very friendly and helpful. The kids club is great and the kids had heaps of fun, made new friends also that we still keep in contact with. The bedrooms were good, we had 2 (interconnecting). The resort is spacious and caters to wheelchairs and the elderly with ramps and a lift. Get out and do some tours and even jump in a cab to visit the local school (its cheaper then doing the tour thru the resort and the taxi will wait for you). the kids at the school love to see tourists. We also visited the Warwick which made me love the Naviti even more. The pool is big enough that you have your own space and not swimming over each other. Pool and groud activities keep you busy and the staff are fun. We will go back

I stayed at the Naviti for a friends wedding in a nearby village. I encourage everyone to ask for an ugrade and then you won't have to deal with outdated bed sheets!
The location is nice, there are some pretty good beaches if you venture out of the resort, and the mountains are nearby also. Go on some day trips and get a break from all the australian families with too much hair braiding going on.
All inclusive means exactly what you think it does - and the staff are really helpful when it comes to providing you with whatever you like.
A great place for familes with kids.
