Our Rugby tour has stayed at the Fiji Beachouse for the 2nd year in a row and have experienced another AMAZING time. Seriously a place to go if you are wanting to really experience TRUE Fijian Hospitality and friendship. All our boys & parents have been having a ball, a few of the younger kids that have come along with the parents haven't stopped with so many activities available, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, village tours, shopping in Sigatoka or just haning out with the beautiful gorgeous staff. The gorgeous garden Bures are excellent with beautiful outdoor showers, the dorms have been ideal of our boys and their new traveller rooms are excellent. Food has been magnificent. Thank you again Beachouse. We love it here and will be back again in 2014!

Stayed here for 2 then extended to 3, and wish we had stayed 5. Great alternative budget option for those not interested in the big resorts.
Had trips on very day to various places, can recommend the jungle trek, ended up in a cool waterfall, then followed by freshly cooked curry and roti with a fresh coconut...yum!
Kayaking, suring paddle boarding, and a reasonable pool, plus, loads of hammocks to chill.
Food good pub grub with a smattering of local fare, not much choice but a small place so understandable.

after a long flight we were excited to arrive here, at the gates security stopped to tell us we can go in as they were filiming beauty and the geek. we waiting for an hour for a member of staff to come and talk to us. when he arrived they agreed to move us to mango bay (which was an outstanding resort) we went back to beachouse at the end of our stay for 2 nights when it reopened, it is still a nice resort and we were looked after with the compensation of 3 free nights.

Thanks to Andrew Brown and the team for a magical week of birthday fun. We travelled in a group (old friends) and The Beachouse was the perfect venue for everyone to relax and "do their own thing". There was plenty to do on-site. Something for everyone. Snorkelling, surfing, kayaking, SUP boarding, forest walks, reading, lying about in hammocks, fishing :). There were also many opportunities for venturing out (Suva, Sigatoka, other islands). Andrew made it a breeze to book accommodation and met all of our different needs (family, singles, couples, old and young). The rooms were comfortable and aesthetic. The ensuite bathroom set amidst tropical ferns was a treat. There really was nothing more to do than arrive and start resting and playing. Some of the meals we had were delicious. Fish curry and marinated chicken were our favourites. Will be heading that way again as soon as I need a rest :). Sue

We stayed here for two days after staying at mango bay (just down the beach) for 3 nights, the location is just fabulous - so beautiful! The beach is gorgeous and the rooms clean and new. The only let down was the food - nothing like as good as mango bay - not as much choice, bland and not cooked properly. Overall nicer rooms than mango bay but staff entertainment and cuisine Not as good.

It was cheap so we booked 10 days. On arrival we were checked in early (08:00) and told how everything works. The rooms are spacious, clean and well kept, hot water is 24hrs and reasonably plentiful. The food was very good and well priced, the beer cold and cheap. Pool is chilly and the sea warm, beach is white and water is clear.

Breakfast is reasonably basic but everything you need, coffee is STRONG and the ladies always smiling.

Be aware that the beds are pretty hard, however the booze is cheap so the few nights that it takes to get used to them can be medicated. There was a group each night (different people) that would stay up later and have fun and due to the layout of the buildings there is no noise in the rooms.

The surf trips are cheap and easy (Jump in and charge to your room) and the break out front is pretty good when conditions are right.

Our flights were delayed 24hrs at last minute and the owner Andrew made sure that we were looked after during this time and made sure that our room was still available for that night.

Remember that the place has a chilled vibe and that goes for every part of the business, have patience at times and other times they will surprise you. Contact them before you arrive (a week out) to make sure that you booking is secure, arrive and leave the rest of the world behind for a few days.

As I said we booked 10, would have stayed 20. Already penciled in for a month 2014.

Room Tip: Cant tell you about dorms but Garden rooms were all well placed.

It didn’t start off great as I arrived at 8:30pm and had to wait for 15 minutes until someone turned up at the checkin desk. They then couldn’t find confirmation of my booking. I had booked a garden double but was put in a travellers double (he said they were the same but there is a difference in price so they aren’t). Despite arriving after the kitchen had closed, they kindly made me some dinner. Travellers double room is simple but clean. Bit strange not to have anywhere to hang your clothes and no bin or bedside lamps. The ‘mattress’ is a piece of foam as others have reported but is comfy none the less. The maids don’t come in your room every day so if you want fresh towels / sheets you have to ask. I was moved in the morning to a garden double which had a few more homely touches but still no hanging space.
So I am not sure why there are negative reviews of this place. The grounds and building are lovely (maybe a little dark at night). Very spacious with plenty of places to sit and rest and amazing hammocks on the beach. The location is right on the beach, a very nice beach, with great snorkeling. The kayaks are free to take out to the reef. Free wifi in the main area (not in rooms) which is great. Free scones and afternoon tea. Free pool table and tennis table. The pool is nice but a little chilly but the sea is surprisingly very warm and clear, even if the weather is cloudy. Lots to see under the sea. Activity wise there is horse riding, jungle treks, walks, playing in the ocean and generally just relaxing and chatting with fellow guests.
The lunch menu is pretty basic, toasties, burgers, wraps etc and dinner is changed each evening, you have to order dinner before 5. Really enjoyed the food but after 8 nights I did miss some salad and fruit. Sigatoka is a 30 minute $5 local bus ride away where there are shops and a market worth an afternoon visit.
What was a really nice personal touch was all the staff remembered your name and greeted you all the time.
Some reviews said there are no cooking facilities but this is untrue. My friends were cooking in the kitchen. Good place to meet people.
There are two dogs at the beachouse but are very friendly and don’t bother you unless you go up to them.
Overall I would recommend the beach house for people looking for a reasonably priced relaxing break by the sea.
