Llansteffan Village Stores and Deli
Restaurant details
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Spending a few relaxing days in Llansteffan and in need of a cup of coffee we called into the Village stores. It was like stepping back in time and a completely delightful experience. It was obviously a store where villagers gathered for a bit of a chat. A lovely lady made us so welcome and was serving in the shop area and serving and cooking in the cafe. Spotlessly clean with quaint furnishing we had to wait a while, which was no problem as we soaked up the atmosphere. Our wait was worth it with as we had really delicious chicken panini s and coffee which filled us up for hours. After saying we were there for a few days relaxing and walking we were presented with information on were to go and what do. Lovely little store and personal attention.

They don't sell much, so remember to take all you need with you if you are visiting Llansteffan Beach or Castle.

The team of mother and daughter plus grand-daughter are a credit to this jewel in the Carmarthenshire tourist gem of a village called LLansteffan.

Their persona give the visitors the aura and decision to call again, and again.

Not only a village shop, cafe, but a chat shop, where visitors can enjoy the local gossip, or where to go, in this historical part of the Welsh Coastal Path.

St Anthony's WELL, The Castle (Not the Inn) Hen Capel in Llanybri (1 1/2 miles up the road) the Churchyard where there is a 1st World War Grave, and the window which was made by John Petts a famous artist from the village which designed and made the window East window in 1980.

But his historical legacy was that he designed and made the window for the Church in Birmingham Alabama USA after the racially bombing in this town in 1963, which was donated by the the People of Wales.Being a part of the Welsh Coastal Path, a stay for a coffee, drink, or a snack to charge the batteries , a call is a must.

The path of unknown beauty and unrivalled scapes awaits the walkers and visitors to this Gem and the Village Stores, please call on your way. its exceptional..a treat on your walk.

If you're looking for a little serendipity try calling in at The Village Stores in Llansteffan. Quirky it is! If you are in the vicinity please do go and treat yourself to a cup of coffee and a slice of bara brith or even lunch at this amazing little shop/cafe. It is like sitting in your grandma's living room surrounded by her bits and pieces and you will be sure to receive a warm welcome from Hazel and staff. Hope to be back one day.
