After a short drive into the town centre we found many of the local restaurants were closed on a Monday. We grabbed a coffee and the staff recommended Dolcenero.

We were not disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff and the chef. Seated quickly and perused the menu. In the end we decided on the frico with polenta and 36 month prosciutto for starters. And prosciutto and ruby trout spaghetti. All were absolutely delicious. The prosciutto was served at perfect temperature and were the perfect balance of flavours.

The chef stopped by to speak with us and it is obvious he is very passionate about his food. Everything from the ingredients to the wines on the menu are from the local region. They produce their own prosciutto and even the breadsticks were delicious. Made water which flows from local mountain streams the breadsticks were not greasy or oily.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to have the tastiest prosciutto!!

I have arrived to the place with very little knowledge of it. It was late and not very busy, exactly what I needed at the time. For my starter I had wonderful soup of the day. Pumpkin soup. With touch of smoked cheese on the top. Delicious! As it was very late I had famous proccuto and it melted in my mouth. Very welcoming and helpfull staff. Great atmosfer. Place to go with friends to see real soul of St Daniele. I visited few more times during my stay. Some of the the times it was very busy but not less hommy and welcoming.
