It's worth getting on the dodgy wooden ferry at Si Racha for 45 minutes to experience the true magic of Koh si Chang; it's a working small island with a lovely park which was the home of an old royal summer palace. There's also a Buddist monastery & shrine as well as a chinese shrine. There is a small beach in the royal park and another one, with shops & food places close to it; it's a safe shallow beach. There are quite a few places to stay all over the island from isolated bungalows to the north & old fishing boats up on land at Rim Talay (?) resort next to Pan & David's restaurant as well as an amazing building built by an architecture professor over a number of years which is now a resort.
