Just had a family lunch at the Red Lion and left very satisfied. The menu is classic pub food, sensible, not fancy. Helpful and quick service. Beer in very good condition. Log fire in the grate with a young Labrador curled up under the adjacent table. The food came fast and apart from the rather unnecessary (free) addition of salad to everyone's order we were very happy with the quality. In particular recommend the fish and chips. How comforting to find a pub which is just that, and is not dreaming of being a top flight restaurant instead. We will visit again.

We really enjoyed our lunch in this delightful old pub which ,thank goodness is unrestored , unselfconscious, and unpretentious - but very homely and welcoming . The rib eye steak was superb and served with lots of tasty trimmings and the home cooked ham egg and chips was a vast portion and equally good .Good value . Good beer . We were nicely looked after by the friendly and efficient young staff.

A 17th century classic country pub tucked away in the tranquil setting of Whiteleaf. We visited the Red Lion in early summer and sat outside where we were served excellent fresh baked baguettes, homemade chilli, and the best fish and chips I have tasted for a long time. The staff were polite and attentive.
We recently returned to the Red Lion for Sunday lunch. We had Sunday roasts and I had a rib eye steak. The meal was excellent, roast beef was cooked to perfection, the pork also accompanied by perfect crackling, and a mixed herb stuffing, and my rib due was succulent and cooked to my liking. They have a good well kept selection of real ales, ciders and largers. There is open fire in the main bar and a log burner in the snugg.
It's a great pub warm and friendly, welcomes families including thier dogs. Will definitely return

Stopped over for lunch after exploring the Chiltern escarpment above Princes Risborough. The food was good and prices were decent. The staff were also fast and nice, making sure we were comfortable and that we were happy with everything.
