On a Saturday night, we booked a table at 8:45, arriving at 8:30. At 9 o'clock we were told that we were waiting for elderly group to finish their desserts and that it would be another 10-15 minutes. To apologise they offered us free drinks but waiting half hour in the cold, drinks didn't quite make it. As we began to order, the waiter told us the various changes on the menu, and that there was one steak left when 3 out of 4 of us wanted steak. A bit of warning or for thought was needed here. When our starters arrived, 3 out of the 4 dishes arrived with the waiter stating the second scallops would be a further few minutes as they have made a mistake with the order. For a small bistro, this was careless. I had finished my scallops when the other dish finally arrived. I was not impressed! We then waited a further 30 minutes for our mains to arrive. The lamb dish was small and not worth the money, the chips with the steak were luke warm and not 'hand cut' like they were described on the menu. We decided to opt out of the dessert as the dessert probably would of melted by the time it got to us , the service was so slow. Although the staff were apologetic, they didn't make up for the less than satisfactory service we received. After complaining, we got two main courses taken off the final bill, and the waiter's final comment was "To be honest, we shouldn't have taken your table anyway". This was rude and very unprofessional. All in all very disappointing evening.

A lovely lunch, nothing could be faulted, we thoroughly enjoyed the food and considered it good value for money. Very pleasant staff.

I often go here for lunch. It's local, friendly and offers a good choice of food and drink.
A lot of the menu offers a gluten free option, which is great for me.
The décor is lovely and it's nice to see local art work displayed on the walls, which changes fairly frequently.
I particularly love the sandwiches, which are served with a side salad and a bowl of vegetable crisps and are only £4.95.

This was a nice little find. The menu is limited but they serve great food with a decent selection of wines. The starters were good. I had the crab and asparagus, which was light and delightfully presented. For a main, I chose the cannon of lamb and braised shoulder - one of the best cooked, best presented and most flavour filled main courses I've had in a restaurant in a long long time. This was followed by a selection of cheeses and a decent port. The service was unfussy, relaxed and not rushed, which is a pleasant change from most restaurants - thanks to our polite, attentive and friendly waiters, Matthew and Stephen. The bill was a pleasant surprise too! Definitely recommended!

We only used this place because of our Smarter Card, 50% off on a Friday, and were not disappointed. The interior was modern and a relaxed place to be. The food was presented well, artistic! I had pan roasted duck with duck confit and followed that up with a lovely lemon cheesecake (calling it cheesecake doesn't do it justice as it had mini meringues, fruit and a kind of peanut base). If you are an ale fan this is important, they serve 2x varieties of Adnams by the bottle. Finally the service was excellent, best way would be to describe it as friendly and relaxed without being slow.
