“Six mile walk to pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

Just had Sunday Lunch at the pub after a six mile walk from Washington along the South Downs Way. Excellent beer, good food and very friendly service, the three girls that appeared to be in charge seemed to have everything under control for what appeared to be a very busy sunday. One small quibble it can be a bit wet underfoot in the gents when you have removed your walking boots.

“Marvellous genuine pub food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

A good unspoiled country pub with a welcoming staff and a bright fire always blazing in the grate. Beer well kept, generous portions of delicious simple food. Let us hope it never suffers a gastronomic- pub makeover!

“Good Pint after a walk along the Downs”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

This is a great pub for a good pint or two it has a really good "pub" atmosphere the restaurant is away from the bar which is good. The whitebait, spiced olives are good with your pint, glass of wine. we were rather disappointed with their highly recommend their beef burger it comes with cheese and bacon in a really good bun (but the burgers not home made rather chewy and sawdusty for my liking) Staff are very courteous and helpful and the owners try to make sure they speak to everyone. A cosy pub in the winter months after a brisk walk!

“Genuine Pub Lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2012

Happened on The Bridge on way home to New Forest; a real pub atmosphere, speedy cheerful bar service, very good value food. If there is a complaint we didn't care for the intimidating railway sleepers delineating parking spaces; but a brilliant plus is no music.

“A Great Atmosphere For Families”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

We had not expected to go out for lunch, so it was a very pleasant interlude. The 'Bridge Inn', Amberley, permeates charm, tranquility and friendliness. My roast lunch, was pretty good. The gravy, was slightly watery. The roast potatoes on the tough side. The pork, I have eaten far worse. The vegetables, were really good. I had the rhubarb crumble and custard, and it was really good. The rest of my party, thoroughly enjoyed their lunches too. Would definitely return, to the 'Bridge Inn'.
