Have had an anniversary lunch here and, more recently, afternoon tea. The castle and its gardens are just wonderful, perfect for a romantic occasion or a visit with family and special friends. The afternoon tea is served in one of three sitting rooms and is an excellent way to spend time here without spending a fortune.... although at £30 a head it's not cheap! However the scones are the lightest, the cakes are delicious and the sandwiches also good - although, surprisingly, no cucumber. Try lunch during the week when there is a special (more affordable) menu on - food is very good and the service first class, whilst remaining friendly.
