A lovely 'cottage in the woods', Elm Lodge is part of a small complex of three similar properties located on a private and secluded estate. Our welcome was warm and involved a tour of the site and access to the property which had no strange quirks or oddities. All the appliances worked well and the lodge was spotlessly clean - oh, and we had some rather nice chocolate truffles on arrival too!
A few days in this spot were the perfect escape from a busy and polluted London in summer, and was just what we needed. The well equipped kitchen meant that we were able to self-cater very easily, sampling lots of local produce.
The lodge is part of an estate which is beautifully located for walks into Bosham and along the estuary and Chichester Harbour. It's a beautiful part of the world and there's lots to see and do, and equally, if all you want to do is sit and read a book, well, you can do that too. The estate also hosts regular yoga classes and other well-being and mindfulness services which you can also take up if you wish during your stay.
