Borobudur provided a much needed break for our family after all the turmoil and stress of 2016. While the temple provided the spirituality, the Plataran resort provided the relaxation and good food. First, the service is outstanding! Everyone goes out of their way to provide the best service and to ensure your trip is perfect. The excursions we took were well organized and in comfortable, safe cars. Be sure to ask the hotel to pick you up from the airport. The food was good, especially the generous breakfasts. The rooms were superb! Very comfortable and clean. Highly recommended.

We had high expectations when we booked at the Plataran resort. (Price wise, we expected a 5*****) We knew we would be right on Borobudur temple spot ! Unfortunately, it was the only bonus of the resort. Upon arrival from the airport (45 minute drive) it was dark and night and we were greeted so fast that we only understood we were upgraded to a Royal Villa as a gift for our long stay (5 nights). Thank you. The villa was a sort of a large 2 room-appartment and well equipped with an outdoor medium-size swimming pool. The decoration was fairly scarce and minimal because the villa is on a probably Karaoke use on regular basis. The space looked empty and not warm. But the biggest problem we experimented was the noise.
1 - Projects were undertaken all over the hotel (jack-hammers, saws, polishing machines of all sorts) we had to complain about this many times,
2 - Early morning call for prayers with loudspeakers... Poor child got to sing at 4:00 am ! Poor ears to support the child and muezzin calls out of tune. The hotel provides ear-plugs for that. How can you pretend to be a 5***** with such poor insolation ?
3 - The villas overlooks the hotel car park, (you don't see it, thank god ! but you hear the cars)
4 - There was no management to register clients complaints, the staff (very nice) did its best,
5 - Cleaning : we had to have our room cleaned in depth because so much dust had been accumulated under the bed and sofas. An efficient staff management is required urgently to double check housekeeping duty, not doing much.

Finally, the only positive point was the breakfast restaurant with nice waitresses and waiters.
Poor, poor, poor...

Dear 2ADORIA
Thank you for staying with us at Plataran Borobudur Resort and sharing your experience with us on trip advisor. We value your time and energy since our guests' perspective is very important to us and so is your constructive feedback, for our team as well as for readers and visitors from all around the world alike.
First of all I would like to apologize for all the major inconveniences you faced during your stay with us; it is with deep regret we acknowledged your comments about the noise from the ongoing improvement project we have for the property and outside noise from the prayer which we certainly regret.
Also, in regards to your feedback on our room décor, we are happy to inform you that we will be implementing some modification on our interior and furniture to ensure that we deliver a comfortable and well-maintained atmosphere to all guests.
Lastly, the cleanliness issue you have encountered has alerted me as a great concern as it does not meet our standard of service. I have shared your feedback with the department head concerned and ensure all necessary action taken to reinforce the standard and to avoid it from reoccurring.
On the other hand, we are happy to learn that you enjoyed the service and breakfast during your stay.
I hope that I can convince you to change your impression of our property. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly for your next stay. It would be my pleasure to welcome you back to our improved hotel.

I have to admit that I really can't stop admiring the magical view of Borobudur temple from the room that they gave me -- especially when they upgraded my room to the Executive Villa with private pool!! :-)
Thank you so much, PLataran! It was absolutely an unforgettable stay for me and my fiance. Looking forward to come back again! :-)

Resort is right in the center of village and plantation. No shopping or restaurant within walking distance from resort. This is not a concern to us as we really enjoy our stay at the resort. Staff are very friendly. Room is very spacious, clean and bed very comfortable.Restaurant in resort provide good delicious food either in Indonesia or Western style. We have mountain view from our room and Borobudur temple from Platio restaurant and lobby.

The Plataran is a magical place. With a direct view of Borobudur, our room (a Deluxe wooden villa) was spectacular with all mod cons but meshing with the surrounding tropical gardens. The staff were all wonderful - we recommend the spa.

Room Tip: Our deluxe wooden villa was in its own private garden making it very quiet.
