“If you are missing American-style sports bars”
Review of Zotz

Set-up like an Applebees or TGI Fridays, this place has more American character than Honduran which is good if you are looking for some televised games, appeteasers, and a streak. However, we wanted something a little more "tipico" but on Sundays, that is hard to find. They tried there best though and even made us baleadas even though they weren't on the menu. It is a little loud, but what sports bar isn't?

We visited Zotz for a light lunch while wandering the streets of Santa Rosa de Copan. Good interior; nice lighting and the walls covered with farmed memorabilia, from Elvis album covers to Honduran historical items. They put some effort into it. Friendly atmosphere, comfy feel.
Interesting menu, but we settled for an appetizer platter; the server helpfully steered us a way from the large one to the regular, which was more than enough for two at $9.50 - onion rings, bbq chicken, deep-fried chicken wings, celery and dip and more. It was good, and after six months in Honduras a little deep-fried was welcome. Beer is $1.75.
We'd go back to try more on the menu. (There was a dance floor DJ booth; looked like things might be lively at night.)

I'm an American with Honduran descent. I'm 50yrs old and suffer from diabetes and cirrhosis of the liver. I visited Zotz with family and asked, in detail, if they could cook me a chicken breast with no seasoning whatsoever and not marinated. They assured me they could. After an hour our meal arrived and I was giving a fillet of fish deepfried with seasonings. I asked to speak with a manager and it was apparent that no one was returning. I went and found one and tried to explain the situation and the man told me they couldn't attend to me or my needs. I was shocked and dumbfounded. My family was halfway thru their meal so I paid the tab and left to find something eat. As things happen I found the Pizza Pizza, an Italian type restaurant. I had my family joined me there. If you want some Honduran hospitality DO NOT GO TO ZOTZ. Go to the pizza pizza.
