“Ideal Country park to get away from it all”
Reviewed January 2, 2014

We have been to this park twice (in different seasons) and it was great both times. The old reservoir, complete with Edwardian buildings, is a wonderful place for a gentle stroll. You can really get away from all the hustle and bustle of modern life. The walk all the way round the reservoir can take over 90 mins but it's well worth it. Whether you're on your own, as a couple or as a family, there is something for everyone. An excellent play area for the kids, easy parking (fee payable), toilets and a small cafe make for a pleasant visit.
Recommended for a visit at any time of the year.

“Good if you just want a walk”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The walk around the reservoir is actually very good. It’s a good length with plenty of variety and a small nature reserve which breaks it up.

If you just want a walk then this place is well worth a visit.

Just don’t expect anything else to go with your visit. There is a visitor facility but isn’t not up to much. Oh, don’t forget coins to pay and display.

“If you live in town and want a country walk - welcome!”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

I think these county council country parks are great. 99.9% of the general public think they having are real a country outing and that leaves the plethora of footpaths and proper countryside around free from any overcrowding. Imagine what it would be like if in the woods and fields if we did not have these facilities dotted about. Terrible!

This is not such a bad place. There is pay-for-parking (but I have never paid yet). There is a made-up all weather path 50% of the way round but the remainder can be very sticky in the wet so (if you don't just double back) proper boots are often essential. There is safety for ladies in that the place is mostly open fields. It is very attractive scenically. There are nice family play areas and such. Good for dogs and no bikes.

So come and enjoy and keep out of the real landscape too.

“"Perfect Day Out"”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Lots of lovely walks and if your up to it walk around the reservoir.

As well as walking trails there is a cycle trail too and one of the lovely parts is you can do one of the trails that has no bikes on and very peaceful.

Bike Hire, Café with reasonable prices, fishing on the lake, BBQ area and sand playing area great for kids.

Well worth a day out here.
