I feel that I have to be brutally honest when writing this review as I don't feel I had the full picture when I booked to stay with my family for a week.
The good points:
It's a clean, basic, spacious apartment that has everything you need for cooking. Spotlessly clean oven and microwave and just about enough bowls and plates.
The beds, I found to be comfortable and the bedding clean. Plenty of storage space and a safe for your valuable items.
Kelfa was so lovely, helpful and accommodating. The staff in general were friendly and always greet you warmly every day.
The apartments are in a great location, lovely kept gardens, set back from the main road and it's super close to the beach, bus stops and shops in the village.
Great to have a washing machine and clothes rack provided so we didn't have to take back many dirty clothes.
Kelfa very helpfully sorted out car hire for us so we could explore this beautiful island, she can also sort out boat trips if you wish.
The not so good points:
There is building work on two houses being built at the back of the apartments which can be a little noisy early in the morning, we weren't told about this before our arrival.
Dogs. So many dogs in the area and their owners are very inconsiderate by letting them bark and bark and bark all day and through the night.
Internet is poor and does not reach the apartments but Kelfa is working on solving this issue. Internet is obtainable by the office.
There are basically 3 TV channels. The only channel we could watch was DW, a German news channel that was in English and there were 2 French channels. Not great if like us, you had 2 kids who were too tired to go out in the evening and just wanted to chill in front of the TV.
Breakfast is provided in the form of bread and fruit.
Also, if you end up in apartment number 2, you will need to speak to the other guests about the BBQ. They don't seem to have any consideration for you. They will happily set up outside the apartment and sit under the kitchen windows and talk loudly till very late. The windows are only 1 pane of glass so for future guests, please be considerate when BBQ'ing in the garden as who ever is staying in No.2, can hear every, single, word! Also when shutting doors, try to do so quietly as they also bang loudly. Maybe we were just unlucky with our fellow guests and had unusually loud neighbours? Or maybe, I think we were so quiet, they just didn't know we were there!
My tip, if you want a little bit of a break from the sand and seaweed, a few km's down the road is the Hilton Double Tree Allamande, we treated ourselves to a pool day there. It's 500 rupees per adult and 225 for children but they give you that amount back to spend on food and beverages, I can recommend the tenderloin steak and fries :-)
Overall, I quite liked the apartment, but it was not as amazing as I had read about with the reviews.
