“indulgent spa day”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

I have been to Fairlawns Spa a few times now and have never been disappointed. The therapists are really good, the lunch is really super...lovely choice and drinks on hand all day. Totally relaxing and it was a beautiful sunny day when we went so we were able to sit out on the sunloungers outside. I can totally recommend the Spa for a treat of a day out!

Great place, however the phone number displayed on this site is wrong! Should say 01922 455122 not 455722, I kept pestering some one, until I realised the number was incorrectly displayed.otherwise s lovely place to stay, amenities are fantastic, food fabulous, staff brilliant, can't wait to go back again, worth every penny.

Thank you so much for highlighting this administrative error on our business listing. I contacted TripAdvisor immediately and they have apologised for this mistake and made appropriate adjustment (which will hopefully be rectified within 24 hours!). Lovely to hear that you have had a great time with us - thank you for letting us know.

Myself and 5 other friends have just returned from our spa taster stay to celebrate a birthday. We checked in at 2.30 pm, reception staff were very friendly and handed us our Itinerary and room cards ,we all had twin executive rooms above the spa, which were very clean and modern and all had air con which came in very handy as it was rather warm in the rooms but soon cooled down after a few minutes of switching it on. We also had slippers and towel and robe plus a bag to keep items in whilst down at the spa or whilst having treatments. We were shown round the spa facilities, steam, sauna relaxation rooms and the pool, then left to do whatever we wished during our stay. The treatments that are included in the taster stay are all very good and very relaxing, we also booked additional treatments and so glad we did, the therapists are very good at there job and also recommend products etc. There is also a selection of unlimited refreshments from the spa grazing bar, this included fresh fruit, chocolate brownies, scones with pots of jam and cream, cordials and unlimited tea, different types of coffee, hot chocolate etc. that you helped yourself too from the drinks machine. We also had included a 4 course dinner in the fairlawns restaurant which was amazing the presentation and choice was 5* and the waiters went out of their way to make you feel very special and look after you, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is normally in your room but the staff arranged for us all to sit together in a quiet area of the spa lounge which was lovely, continental with plenty of choice. The weather was so lovely after breakfast we sunbathed in the garden on the sun loungers before our treatments and lovely spa lunch. There was so much choice, salmon, prawns, smoked mackerel, rice cous cous, salad, chicken, hot potatoes, coleslaw and lovely chunky bread. We didn't have to check out till 5.00 that day so had more time to use the facilities and have some more lovely warm scones and chocolate brownies. All this on a taster spa stay for £115 per person. A big thank you to all the staff at fairlawns for making us feel very welcome and looking after us so well. Cant wait to come back and hopefully very soon.

Room Tip: Rooms above the spa are very nice

Stayed here for my moms wedding recently.

On a stressful day, there were a few niggles which could have been avoided! Rooms were ok, understand there is a refurbishment going on, which is needed. Some rooms are bigger then others, and otherwise are clean and bathrooms are good. Had to change room as when walking into one we had been allocated (after initially been given the wrong room number!) immediatly stunk of smoke as soon as we walked through the door, and this was with the windows already widely open.

The food at the Fairlawns is always a delight and they didn't disappoint on the food for the wedding!

The restaurant/food standards are high, but the bedrooms are average.

Thank you for your constructive feedback we are pleased that the day was an overall success and your parents had an enjoyable. Thank you also for your kind comments in relation to our food service.

We continue to invest in the bedroom product and are appreciative of your comments. As is the nature of a private hotel, we do have bedrooms of different 'vintages' but between refurbishments we expect rooms to be maintained and cleaned to a high standard.

My wife and I got married here on 13th July and we couldn't have dreamt of a better venue to cater for our day. From start to finish the wedding coordinator looked after everything, no request was too big or too small and she took everything in her stride. The same can be said for all of the staff who all went out of their way to be as helpful, professional and kind as possible, we had comment after comment about how good the staff were thought the day.

The food was nothing less than 5* and every single person we spoke to said how much they enjoyed it, comments such as 'the best food I have ever tasted' were heard many times.

The wedding from start to finish seemed to flow effortlessly all due to the hard working staff and excellent management who all worked together to pull off seamless room changes in brilliant time.

The venue has everything we could have wanted for our wedding day from the outside bar serving drinks so people did not have to cue up inside and could enjoy the sun to the perfectly kept gardens that made for outstanding pictures.

Fairlawns really is the perfect wedding venue, I have no doubt a lot of guests who attended our wedding will be paying visits to the restaurant and recommending the venue to others so well done Fairlawns and thank you for helping give us our perfect day.

This was a spa stay for me and my mum! It was beautiful x

We stayed in room 43 which looked to have been newly decorated but I may be wrong it was lovely x we had champagne to greet us and lovely view of a wedding going on x

The spa is just lovely, food so fresh and brownies are AMAZING!
I felt the mini pedi was slightly disappointing as only a nail shape and polish, not my idea of a pedi as I do more than that at home, it was lovely just think massage or something like that would be nice and more value for money. (Hate to say a negative because it was so nice!)
The mud chamber is amazing too!! The whole spa is just lovely we love coming here and wouldn't go to any other spa as feel would be disappointed x

The well spoken man who greets you in the restaurant (I didn't catch his name) is so nice and attentive, very chatty and friendly, and French bar man/waiter is so funny and very chatty, really lovely staff who don't seem to find anything to much trouble xx food was amazing starters and main, puddings we both didn't enjoy, a waitress noticed we hadn't eaten it and stop clearing the table next to us to ask if we wanted something else. Cannot fault the service as we had over heard a waiter do same thing for table behind when a guest had ordered something he'd never tried before and wasn't keen. Excellent service

Lovely stay and we will be back

Thanks for all of your kind comments about the team and the hotel in general. Thank you also for the constructive comments in relation to the treatment you received and your puddings in the restaurant. Customers know more about our service than we do and we will consider what changes may be needed moving forward. A great pleasure looking after you - hope to see you again soon.
