I fell in love with this hotel while looking at their website and I was afraid I would be disappointed in the real thing. But naah. It was perfect.
We had a family suite with a plunge pool. We loved it! We loved the privacy of it, the feel of being at home, the attention to detail.
The staff is amazing!
We arrived really late from the airport on our first day and had sandwiches with a side salad waiting for us in a room. Perfect for a tired and starving family! And we felt this all throughout our stay, like they actually cared about us, we were not just a stranger passing through.
The hotel is small enough, so even during the high season, you won't feel like you are stepping on other people all the time. There were always chairs and towels available at the pool, the food and drinks never took too long to arrive.
But at the same time, it is not too empty, you feel like the place is alive and if you want you can always find someone to chat with.
THE BEACH: is very nice. Small, and cozy. I believe that only guests of three nearby hotels have access to it, so it is never overcrowded. No locals or other tourists. But be aware, there are always waves in the ocean. Sometimes they get pretty high. You have to be a good enough swimmer.
The plus is the rocky formations right next to the cliff, which allows for some snorkeling. There is no gear to rent at the hotel, so bring your own. And it is not the most colorful snorkeling I have ever seen, but it was nevertheless very very cool. Certain kind of fish I have never seen anywhere else. And it was just nice to have such easy access to it, right off the beach.
THE FOOD: was simply amazing. Their breakfasts are top notch. The amazing view of the lagoon while sipping coffee and eating your "out of this world" mango with a spoon, helps too.
We ate breakfasts, all loved it.
We had snacks at the pool. Loved it.
We had dinner at their restaurant at night. Absolutely delicious!
There are also daily afternoon snacks in the suite, like some homemade chocolates, or cakes, and that it a nice touch as well.
POOLS: there are two I believe, one with salty water and one with fresh water. I liked the freshwater one the best.
CHECK-IN and check out were a breeze. We also ordered airport transfers through the hotel and everything was very well organized.
THE TOWN: it's not too far from the town, only about 10-minute walk, BUT you have to walk on the side of the road, and its downhill going into the city, but it's definitely uphill coming back.
There are also quite a few stairs at the hotel that you have to climb all the time, so people with young kids your strollers should keep that in mind.
THE SHOWER: even though very beautiful, was a bit slow to heat up. But I liked their ecological approach to shampoos and the rest; they are served in big refillable bottles instead of individual daily packages. I believe every little gest counts, bravo.
In conclusion, as I said, if I ever go back to Phuket I won't even look anywhere else. I found my favorite spot there already.
