I can truly say this is one of the most comfortable, sumptuous places I have ever stayed -- fully comparable (even as a "humble" b&b) with far more expensive, actual hotels. Only 5 rooms, but they are super-clean (hardwood flooring) and far more up-to-date than most North American hotels (towel-warmer, dual shower heads, free WiFi, etc.): Part of the magic lies in the fact that all the fixtures and fittings are French -- I wish my own bathroom were as modern, convenient and functional. The bed was soft yet supportive. The breakfast -- including croissants, french bread, cheese, yogurt, fruit and made-to-order eggs -- was the most substantial I've ever had at a b&b.

Our host -- Patricia -- was charming and helpful (and seems to know everyone on the island). Of course, leaving our luggage with her after checking out (until it was time to go to the ferry) was no problem.

All this only a 5-minute walk from the ferry dock.

Frankly,if you stay anywhere else on St.-Pierre, you are really missing out!

Room Tip: Late risers take note: The rooms at the back of the building face the local church, which tolls every quarter hour from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Not ideal if you like sleeping late!

This was our first trip to st. pierre (on our honey moon) and it certainly wont be our last. we definitely intend to stay there again when we visit next time. We were picked up at the air port, given a small tour as we drove to the hotel, got lots of great advice from Patricia and the hotel staff. Everyone was very helpful, polite, and fun! Absolutely loved the style and theme of the hotel (inside and out). After a busy day of seeing all the sites, it was a great place to return at the end of the day to relax.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nuits Saint-Pierre. Our room was inviting, clean, and well-appointed. We found the hotel staff friendly and they made us feel welcome. There is a cozy bistro attached to the hotel on the main floor. The location of the hotel was excellent because the port and centre of the town are just a few minutes walk. And from the hotel there is access by walking up the street to the numerous hiking trails in the picturesque valleys and hills located behind the town. We were picked up from the airport, in fact they were waiting for us when we arrived. Excellent service. The islands offer an authentic taste of French culture and customs. We loved our visit. We will definitely stay at the hotel again in the future.

Nuits St. Pierre was the perfect place for a single traveler to this "morceau de France" just off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Patricia runs the delightful BandB from picking you up at the airport, to giving tips on things to do, to running the wonderful cafe next door where you can hear a local folk musician on Monday and Thursday afternoons. The "croque monsieur" sandwich was the best I ever tasted!
My room was modern and tastefully decorated with a state-of-the-art bathroom, but windows which open! Wifi is free, and English is spoken without resentment. Breakfast is excellent, but be sure to arrive on time.
