We had booked this room based on the reviews on Trip advisor, but was truly disappointed.
The trouble started with our booking. We tried to book the room online as we were travelling. It takes you through the site easily enough, but then it gets to the payment module and we were never able to load that page after multiple attempts. The front office in the hotel did well by saying that they will match the web rate, so we continued on. We got there a bit late and had some trouble finding the place as there were no signs till perhaps the very end where the signs were no longer needed. The road getting there also needs some work.
When we got there, the front office was fine getting us the room. We were to proceed further down in our car to get to our rooms. When we got to the car park, what we found were all security people. There were no hotel staff. Once again, the security staff did well to take care of our luggage. But it all seemed quite disorganized. It was quite dark as we made our way to our cottage.
As we got to the room, we found it to be really run down and dirty. (See photos attached). The room was musty and the walls seemed dirty and moldy. The bathroom was not really clean either. A cockroach in the bathroom is never a good sign!! Turning the shower on meant water all over the floor of the bathroom.
We were really tired and so didn't really call to complain. Decided to spend the night.
I asked for some water and house keeping brought us 2 bottles of "mineral" water quickly enough. Unfortunately, both the bottles were opened and seemed to have been refilled. I don't mind getting plain water but they should give it in a jug, not suggest that it is mineral water.
The next morning, we went around the resort and it really felt like they property had such good assets that were being wasted. It has great shore line, but it is really not being used well. the whole place needed a good dose of maintenance....... and I mean a really good strong dose.
I am going to skip talking about the breakfast. Let us just say it won't be very flattering to the hotel.
Overall, we felt cheated. the property was definitely not worth the money they were charging and they really need to step up and spend some money to get this place upto speck.
I would take a pass on this hotel if I had a choice.
