Took the wife and kids for a Mothers Day meal. First impressions favourable, lovely location, nice décor, menu short but sounded good… then it went downhill with an awful Sunday Roast (pork and beef) with undercooked potatoes, carrots and parsnips, and a burnt Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was bisto. The couple next to us complained about their meal too. The whole thing just displayed a lack of care and passion. Very disappointing. Maybe because it was Mothers Day the kitchen was struggling, but I would argue that on special days like this they should make an effort to get at least the basics right. We wont be back unfortunately.

Please font waste your time or money. Menu abismal. Toilets a disgrace. Dust everywhere. Complete disappoint. Please note. If you see my reviews you will realise I do not complain or criticise easily. Quite the opposite. I wouldn't take anyone here.

We suspected our waiter was hungover from the outset. Although pleasant, he made no secret of the fact that serving a big Sunday lunch party was not what he wanted to be doing, especially as he was on his own as he had just had to serve the boss and his girlfriend. All the beer had been drunk the night before so there was limited stock, the cutlery had been lent out and not returned (what?!) and when we asked for pudding he made it clear he had hoped we wouldn't.
The food itself was fine even if the portions were a little small, but it was the service (or lack of) that means we'll certainly not be back

More of a restaurant than a pub these days, decent food, good weekend brunch, slightly spoiled by expensive wine and poor range of beers. Service can be a little offhand unless you are a regular

The atmosphere is good and the staff are all friendly and pleasant. The menu is good but we were a bit disappointed with the quality. Given the prices (easily pay £30 per head for a meal) it was disappointing that we didn't even get a roll or piece of bread but had to buy it. The calamari starter was good. Then one of our party had burger which was lukewarm and I had liver and bacon which had the smallest portion of liver I have ever had served anywhere. The portions of chips are modest and the mains are basic with everything having to be purchased as extras. The dessert was a nice selection but again the reality was slightly disappointing. The apple crumble was OK but the apple tasted bland. The brownies and ice cream was nice although brownies should be served slightly warm which this was not. Overall the meal was a bit pricey for the quality of the kitchen.
