“A wonderful small hotel with charming, helpful staff”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel del Teatro. The hamlet of Regencos was small and basic (as expected) and not as picturesque as some Spanish villages, but the hotel made up for it. We booked a junior suite, which was excellent. It was spacious, stylish, with laptop and a great bed. The communal areas were similarly charming. My only frustration was that the table tops were not sealed, so (our) ring marks were all too easy make! Also a couple of beers in the mini-bar would have been appreciated.

Unfortunately we went out of season so we had to get taxis to local restaurants in the evenings, as the hotel restaurant was shut. But this was no problem and the local coastline was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and were extremely flexible with our breakfast and check-out time.

We stayed in this hotel 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our first impression wasn't great because it was so quiet and in the evening we wondered if it was really a nice place. As soon as we were shown to our beautiful suite we were more then satisfied.
The rooms are more danish looking then spanish, very comfortable, modern and stylish. The large bathroom with big tub just great. There were lots of nice amenities and products, lacked a bathrobe. The restaurant was also really excellent and a good value and so was breakfast. During the day we thought the hotel was truly charming and the village beautiful. We went horseriding just 2km away and it was magical.I highly recommand this place if u don't mind a small hotel charm luxurious but with little staff (to b expected in small places)

The del Teatre is a beautiful, relaxing hideaway, perfect for couples who literally want to do absolutely nothing on holiday.
In a tiny village, without even a bar, we had a sumptuous room with very large comfortable bed (ground floor). The staff (wrong word but the people we met) were lovely and left us to look after ourselves.
The restaurant if fine dinning at it's best with great wine.
Lovely pool and sunbathing area.
As I say there is absolutely nothing in the village but beaches are a ten minute drive away.
Highly recommended.

We were lucky enough to enjoy 4 days here last week, what a truly remarkable experience! Alicia and all the staff made our holiday so memorable. We did have the Suite (301) which was magnificent, however the rustic contemporary decor throughout is relaxing and ultimately "cool", in more ways than one.

The restaurant was delightful, friendly, relaxing and exquisite food. It's sometime since I felt compelled to tip very generously but the chaps in this restaurant deserved every cent. Attentive, charismatic and helpful, yet efficient and obliging.

All in all a fabulous 4 days in a lovely part of the world we had wanted to revisit for years, it didn't,t disappoint in any way! P

Room Tip: Room 301 was marvellous but any of the rooms we saw were superb, perhaps ask for a room with a view...

Located in the center of Regencos village.
Boutique hotel with 7 rooms, the ones upstairs are 2 estorey, others up to 3 people or connecting rooms.
Good restaurant infront of the hotel with garden & swimming pool, have a look because it was the old theatre of Regencos, now converted but keeping the same charm.
If you plan to go in summer ask for a table in the terrace. Chill out place with comfy sofas for a drink.

We chose Hotel del Teatre for our anniversary - and what a good choice it was. Rustic yet subtly stylish - in an enirely unpretentious way.

We were given a warm greeting upon arrival and guided through the local area - complete with map of things to do and recommendations of beaches, towns, walks and spa treatments could also be arranged if we wished.

We stayed in a junior suite on the ground floor. A large room with modern oak four poster bed and solid oak wardrobes. The bathroom was plenty big enough - equipped with a proper hair dryer, lovely toiletries and a large bath with power shower. For us, the only downside was that without grills on the windows we were unable to have our window open at night - and not being fans of aircon, we found the room a little stuffy - but that was just our personal preference. One wall is made up entirely of a stunning window which flooded the room with light and slatted blinds offered ample privacy.

We ate in the restaurant twice during our stay and each time, the food exceeded our expectations, as did the very friendly service. The gin and tonic menu is something to behold and we enjoyed sampling a few! It also has an area with squidgy sofas to relax in post dinner with a nightcap.

Breakfast each morning offered a perfect selection of breads, Spanish omelette, meats, cheese, fruit, cereals and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Del Teatre described in one guide book as a restaurant with rooms is just that, but they've gone the extra mile with friendliness and the fine attention to detail. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner, and only open 5 nights of the week, there is no alternative to the mini bar for drinks or snacks, but the restaurant was happy to provide us wine glasses so we could enjoy what we bought in. Its only for this reason, and not being able to have windows open at night that I've not scored a 5, but it really didn't impact on our stay.

Regencos itself is a very small village and del Teatre is the only hotel and restaurant. At just five minutes from Begur and Sa Tuna, its perfectly situated if you don't want a bustly village.

The entire stay was perfect for us and we'd be happy to recommend and return ourselves someday.

Room Tip: We didn't see other rooms, but we were told ours was the largest of the junior suites. I'd...

We stayed for 3 nights over our anniversary. The hotel looked rustic from the outside and was well appointed with all the modern amenities. Excellent service and very helpful staff - they took the time to explain different options for activities very well. The breakfast was very nice and the restaurant was high quality at very reasonable prices. The location was great - close to beaches, old towns and beautiful countryside. To maximise the location you would benefit from having a car. We would definitely recommend going for a bike ride. We went with the personal trainer that the hotel organised for us and it was amazing!
