Desperately trying to find a good restaurant in Vielha, we broadened our search, found Er Occitan and booked in for our last afternoon meal in Spain. We were not disappointed. Although slightly difficult to find (see tips below) and hidden by a low-key exterior, once inside the restaurant is open, light and elegant. Although sitting one floor above the main road (a transport route to France), you hardly notice it because double glazed windows prevent the noise and the windows are such that all you see is the babbling stream on the other side of the road and the mountains beyond. Our waitress was very attentive to our non-Spanish speaking needs, explained everything perfectly and helped choose a great bottle of wine. The food was largely excellent, although my wife was disappointed that the suckling pig was not as good as we'd had in Barcelona (see review of Granja Elena). The meal was relaxed and unhurried, accompanied by chef's "treats" before and after, and truly a great way to finish our visit to Spain.
Tips to find it: It's at the north end of the main street, and although there is a sign (see photos) at the front, entrance is from the street behind. There is a convenient car park just north of the block that the restaurant is in.
