“One of the best hotels in Fuerteventura”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

I have been traveling to Fuerteventura for more than 13 years and have been staying in a few hotels. This is the best one compared to many others due to the following reasons: great buffet with a broad range of meals; Type of meals are changed every day. In other hotels you get the same food every third day and it gets really boring. Good and fast access to the beach. 3 types of restaurants where you have the possibility to get a decent lunch. Rooms are located in separate Bungalows consisting of 9 apartments. So, you have a lot of privacy. Extremely calm environment. Make sure to book a room which is not to close to the pools. Ask for rooms with a sea view. Avoid to stay in the hotel in July and in August (peak season and a lot of people). For those who enjoy windsurfing and sailing you have good opportunities in short distance from the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, top management is well trained. Two options for Breakfast: early bird breakfast until 10 am and breakfast for those who want to sleep longer (until 11 am). Highly reccomendable!

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with seaview Avoid rooms next to the pools

From the onset, the staff were very welcoming, then all through stay never seen so many happy, pleasant staff The grounds and hotel itself are really clean and attractive. Stayed here early part of June and found not too crowded, possibly due to schools not closed yet. The restaurant, pools, rooms, grounds and the food were the best I have ever experienced in a hotel. I had the best holiday. This is a place to chill, as no where to really go local unless you want to walk 45 minutes on the beach to Jandia! The on site shop doesn't stock a lot so take as much stuff you can eg sun cream, snacks, etc. The beach is really beautiful and if you have a late breakfast you can sit looking out at the sea while eating. Want to go back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: I opted for a view with pool view, loved it.

Weather was Lovely all week, the Breeze helped very much!! The location was very very quiet in the middle of nowhere so couldn't exactly go for a walk anywhere.. We payed for half board and for a balcony room off Thompsons.. Well when we looked out of our Balcony every single room had one so do not Pay extra for that and with the Half Board and being told that drinks were included then Drinks were not included and we had to pay the bill at the end of the week!! i would not recommend this to the age under 30 me and my partner went and we are 21 to young for the place nearly everyone was retired as they were talking to us and surprised we had come to the Resort.. now Thompsons didn't tell us that the hotel was quiet!! So next holiday will be quiet and Thompsons kept quiet on to many other little things so won't be with them again. On arrival you receive a Bottle of Champagne nothing special but the Gesture is nice and it was my Partners Birthdays one of the day we arrived back from Breakfast with another bottle of Champagne!! the Pools were great!! They is a nudist part of the resort near the gym and the beach when you are going for a walk.. wear sunglasses!! As they is a lot of nudists walking and in the sea. If i was to win a free holiday back then i wouldn't go back the night entertainment was Awful, breakfast was ok, the Lunch was nice! and for dinner then that wasnt nice at all!! and i will be going with another Travel Agents!

Room Tip: 6117 would be the best room!

This was our 3rd stay at the FP, and it certainly won't be our last. It has just about everything we want from a holiday hotel. Friendly staff, good sized rooms, low rise buildings, attractive peaceful grounds, relaxed dining, great pools, proximity to a great beach, and no riff-raff!
The 4 large pools were never busy, and getting a lounger never a problem, except in the nudist zone, which was frequently the busiest part of the hotel grounds. Many of the guests, including ourselves, choose this hotel because we can skinny dip in the naturist pool.
The rather dated TV's in the rooms are not an issue for us, and despite this we found a channel showing old episodes of "Waterloo Road" ! But one area which I feel the hotel needs to upgrade urgently is it's Wi-Fi facility. Currently this is only available close to reception, and is chargeable. We pointed out to reception staff that many other hotels now provide free Wi-Fi over a much wider area, including rooms, and were told that the management are aware of this and agree that they need to do something about it, so hopefully it will be addressed in the near future.
There has been some mention of beach bars disappearing - this appears to be due to local government intervention over ownership of the beach strips, with several bars being physically removed and replaced by standard design bars in "authorised" locations.

Room Tip: Good sea and pool views from Block 6 (see photos), and this block is closest to the beach. There is...

Fuerteventura Princess- If you a looking for paradise then look no further than Fuerteventura. I stayed at a wonderful hotel called the Fuerteventura Princess near Jandia. A large hotel with amazing traditional rooms. There are 4 beautiful pools one of which is for Naturists and is well hidden if you are not into that sort of thing. The food was extensive (sometimes 15 deserts to choose from- very tempting to try all). There was a beautful bar in the middle of one of the pools connected by a beautiful little bridge and also a small poolside cafe which sold the likes of burgers pizzas etc. Breakfast was from 6 30 to 9 in a lovely main restaurant however, for those of you who like a lie in a smaller restaurant that overlooked the sea provided breakfaste between 9 and 11 am. There was pleny of entertainment throughtout the day such as keep fit, Yoga, dancing, Spanish lessons, archery, shooting and many more. You could take tennis lessons as well. There is a kids club for the childen and every evening there was entertainment in the small theatre. A small walk down a beautiful pathway took you right onto the beach so no leaving the complex. For those keep fit fanatics a small gym although the equipment was old it did the job and was next to a sauna and steam room. There is also a massage centre on sight for those who want to have the aches of the gym massaged away. The staff were friendly and rooms cleaned everyday. So much to see and do for those who wish to stay on the complex. For me this was the perfect hotel and location and I would thoroughly recommend it. If I had any negative comment it is very slight and that is that to order tea with your evening meal was a bit awkward as they did not seem to serve pots of tea at this time. However the staff did always make sure that I had one with every meal if I wanted.

This was our fifth stay at the hotel. Normally we book later in the season but this time we thought we would stay during the first week of June.

The weather was fantastic - very warm and sunny and the wind was light all week.

Perfect place for chilling out as there is nothing nearby - which for us is excellent but if you want night life go elsewhere.

I would make the following observations :

Entertainment - It was ok (ish). Don't expect Las Vegas quality shows. The entertainment night put on by the staff entertainment team was so bad it was good if you know what I mean.

Cleanliness - really good - sometimes the rooms would be cleaned early on other days it would be done after lunch.

Food - really good improvements. Good selections and if it was meant to be hot it was hot. the soup was steaming hot for example.

Restaurants - good - hardly any kids about which for us is good. Not as much of a scrum as previous.

Grounds - very nice, appears to have been some new planting/maintenance over the last couple of years.

Rooms - a bit dated to be honest. Telly is as old as the hills and they need to be changed - also I would say to the hotel management - please get some decent English channels. It wont cost the earth Im sure. We used to be able to get Sky News but even this has been taken away.

Beaches - perfect !

Beach bars - this was a bit odd. some of them have disappeared !

All in all a very nice stay and we will boom again - as I said its a perfect chill out and I come home feeling re-invigorated after a week in the sun with nothing to do.

This hotel is a bit tired but certainly well worth the 4 star rating it has. The rooms are clean, quite spacious and comfortable. The staff are polite, friendly and keen to help. One of the highlights was the quality of the food. It was exceptional. Varied, fresh and served buffet style but with the chefs serving up different meats and fish every night and paella served on a couple of occasions. Breakfast was also excellent with a great choice, with chef doing omlettes, fried eggs and toasties to your liking.
It was unbelievably quiet when we stayed, perhaps only half full at best. This was a real bonus though, no problem finding a sun bed, we were spoilt for choice there. On our first couple of days we pretty much had the whole pool area to ourselves.
The majority of the guests were probably German, but it is a real cosmopolitan feel about the place. Most of the guests are 'of a certain age' and the place is deserted from 10.30pm at night, one of our only real complaints about our stay. The others being the bar prices are very expensive with a JD & Coke costing a hefty 8 euros. The gym is also in need of some serious maintenance with some of the equipment being very dated and possibly dangerous? Also the treadmill looks out right onto the nudist pool area. Some may look on this as a bonus!!? Not when the bathers were 'of a certain age' and size!!! Better to fix your gaze on the gym floor when hitting the treadmill. :-/
There were no kids running around, no tanked up chavs, no arrogant Russians, just a quiet, relaxing chilled out break, exactly what we wanted. I'm sure the place will be much busier during school holidays, but this was a lovely break and I would definitely go back to The Fuertaventura Princess.

Room Tip: We were in the 42-- rooms, great location between the pool/beach and the main building and we had a...
