We were on business in the area so we needed a decent place to stay and this is it - the rooms are average (we had a big jacuzzi tub but it leaked in the bathroom, and they had those showers that drain right on the floor which we don't like much) and the beds were average comfort (my husband thought too soft)...the pool area is average (right in front of the dining room) but the food is actually really good (especially the Sri Lanka dinners). Average place to stay if you just want a clean room and good food.

Probably you may have graded the Room as average due to technical issue in the bath Tub. My apology for not rectifying the issue prior to releasing the Room.

        We spent two nights at the Covanro, and had a lovely stay. Our room was very big and clean, and had everything we needed. The restaurant, pool and gym were fantastic, and the staff were all very friendly and courteous. We loved our time here, and only had two issues that made it not quite perfect. Unfortunately, being a transit hotel means that there are lots of people leaving/arriving at very odd times, and we were constantly being woken by the sound of suitcases being dragged along. This may have been because we were in the first room, so all the traffic came past us. The other thing to say is that you need to check your bar bills carefully. Ours was wrong every single time. Once they tried to bill us for two bottles of wine instead of two glasses, and the price for the house red varied massively. When I asked the barman why this was, he said that they'd run out of the cheaper one, and so had given us a different wine instead. I knew was a lie, and after a bit of pressure from me, he admitted that we'd had the same wine, and so adjusted the bill accordingly. We felt like we were being conned, and so stopped ordering from the bar.

        A great hotel with just a couple of things that need attention.

        Overall it was very constructive feed back giving us an opportunity to correct our part of mistakes. Many thanks for your comments.

        We have already taken measures to rectify the noise situation due to night arrivals and trust it will work out to minimize the disturbances.

        Bar matter was bit of serious mistake but in our investigation it was revealed as a technical error. We need to apologize for the inconvenience may have caused in this regard.

        this hotel is nice:
        - it is quiet
        - not far from colombo airport
        - the staff is efficient
        - the scenery is beautiful
        - the breakfast is nice
        - the service works fine 24hours
        - the rooms are like bungalows, with nice view
        - the laundry is super fast and super efficient

        just few littles details to improve :
        - internet connection is low. for holidays, it is OK, but for business, it is a bit slow sometimes
        - the water pressure of the shower is irregular, and can be very low, and become high
        - the size of the safe is a bit small
        - no toothbrush provided in the bathroom

        Anyway, it is a great place to stay.

        I booked it for the honeymoon night and I wanted to do my photo shoot on this hotel. That was the main reason to stay on there. Because I really love this place. It's awesome place with perfect lobby and quiet surrounding. But they promise me to give full access to everywhere for my photo shoot at the payment time. But after few days they called to me and told their management changed the rules and now they not allowing lobby and hotel front for the photo shoot. It shocked me. Because lobby is the most beautiful place for the photo shoot. And I'm really confused with that. Why was that? Actually that's not suitable for them. If they gave a word for their customer they must keep it. Because customers deserve what they paid. If you need to apply this rule, apply it for the new customers. And explained it to them at pay stage. And early paid customers release from it. Don't do that for other ones. It was really heart broken thing to me. Please take an action. And every other things with foods,service and clean is perfect. Very beautiful place for every valuable life events.

        We landed around 11pm to find our pick up to be on time and absolutely helpful. Arrived at the hotel hungry, no problem as the front desk team took great care of us.

        The room is large, clean and has a wonderful uncluttered feel to it. Breakfast was good, especially the coffee.

        While we were only here for 12 hours, I would highly recommend. The service and accommodation are excellent for the money.

        Booked for overnight stay before flying out of Bandaranaike Airport early the next morning. Our rooms were upgraded on arrival and were big, very clean and completely free of insect wild life. The staff were professional, welcoming and could not do enough to help us. The whole hotel was spotless and all staff were impeccably dressed and courteous. We had a nice meal in the restaurant overlooking the lovely very pool and garden. The hotel arranged a Hiace to the airport for 3.30am (3000 Sri Lankan rupees).The staff knocked our doors to let us know the transport had arrived for the 25 minute drive. What really gave them the 5star rating is when we arrived at the airport and realized that we had left an iPad in one of the rooms - the hotel staff had gone in to service the room immediately we left and found it and phoned us to let us know. Our driver agreed to return to the hotel to pick up the iPad and bring it straight back to us. They did this in less than 50 minutes and our driver turned up with the hotel manager who handed the iPad over and bade us farewell! What could have been a disaster for us was handled quickly and with exceptional courtesy. They quite simply demonstrated exceptional levels of customer service and we cannot thank them enough!
