I was invited to celebrate a friends significant birthday at this restaurant. It was a wet and cold evening and it was lovely to walk into the warm welcoming lounge. there were eight of us and we were each given a menu to peruse and there was a specials board. All the meals sounded tempting but I went for the Chicken Chasseur. When taking our orders the cheerful member of staff took down our names and orders , making notes of any preferences such as chips not new potatoes ,no cheese on the gammon etc. When the meals were ready we went to our table and it was great to see the jug of iced water without having to ask for it. The meals arrived wonderfully presented, with all the side dishes. My meal was just so rich and tasty, it was superb. A friend had a fillet steak and she declared it to be fabulous. There wasn`t much chatter for the next twenty minutes as everyone tucked in. After a break we were shown the dessert menu and again there was a good selection to choose from and the staff were fine when several decided to share
It was a great evening, the staff were very friendly and the food was home cooked and delicious not microwaved like many of the bigger establishments. Well done to all of the staff at the Red
