“My first time in Guisi Resort”
Reviewed April 18, 2012

the resort was really good and nice, it is a good place for summer vacation with family and friends. Yet, the food is very expensive unlike the nearby resorts. In addition, services were so poor. The staffs were not that friendly to handle concerns of the customers. They don't have fixed rate of the boat for island hopping because it was cleared to us that was it p400 then it automatically increased to p700 which we did not know why there were hidden charges.

We decided to stay here instead of at Kenyama due to its convenient location (it's right at the beach). The water is indeed very clear, and a few yards down the resort's main beachfront is a stretch of fine beige-y sand that affords you a very good view of the sunset.

The resort also has a more close-to-nature feel than what you get in the stone-fortress type of resorts so common these days. The place is set up to look like a multi-room nipa hut, and the rooms are made of wood. Here we had our (first-ever) close encounter with a gecko, and we still heard the cicadas at night.

The issue with Guisi Clearwater Beach Resort is their meal prices. The resort is quite isolated so you have to bring your food and pay the corkage fee (approximately Php60). If you decide to eat here, be prepared to shell out Php100-150 (that's a minimum) per meal per person: a piece of fried chicken (Php100), a cup of rice (Php13), ice (Php5/ medium bucket, this may be shared by the group of course), mineral water (Php40/ 1L, this may be shared by two). There's also no set menu--you ask the caretaker if they can cook your meal of choice and they check if they're able to provide it for you. They all tasted good but the preparation can be better (they served our chicken tinola cold).

In a nutshell, the place was great to stay at, but definitely not if you enjoy tasting local cuisine on the cheap.

Room Tip: *Island hopping fee is Php400 for the first hour and Php200for every succeeding hour. The boatmen an...

In 2 steps from beautiful Guisi beach.Rooms with aircon are quite expensive. Basic rooms are small. Very quiet place. There is a picnic area. Nice to spend 1 day there. Entrance fee to the beach-20 pesos. You only hear the sound of the sea waves. There are a lot of the filipinos every weekend.
