You must go too Dendrolivano ,its just perfect, I have been twice now ,once with a friend and
just last week with my family both times myself and my family had a fantastic time.
Not only is the hotel itself beautiful and so clean,Stella the owner is a also a fantastic cook and an all round lovely person .
I have stayed in loads of hotels around the world and can honestly say the welcome we received from Stella and her husband was the warmest and most genuine of them all.
Nothing is too much trouble for them, their aim is that you have the best holiday ever and they succeed.
If you want a taste of Greek hospitality at its best go to ' Dendrolivano ' if I could give a higher mark I would. As I said at the beginning just go,you wont regret it !

A small and beautifull hotel with a great surrounding garden filled with rosemary - dendrolivano in greek -, olive and fig trees. The rooms are simple and clean (thanks to mrs Alexandra). The owner siora Stella is an excellent cooker , expertized in traditional Cefallonian cuisine. At nights the owners husbund mr.Lambros is holding the BBQ beside the pool. The hotel is a familly buisness and all the members are helping in works , Vera keeps the pool bar and Aegli helps Stella in the kitchen. In the facilities of the hotel parking, pool, and free internet are included. We stayed for ten days and everyday was a perfect day......

Hotel Dendrolivano is surrounded by hundreds of rosemary bushes -- this is how it gets its name. It is in a beautiful and peaceful location.

It is a small hotel with simple but spotlessly clean rooms, and a wonderfully caring staff: the owners Stella and Lambros and the housekeeper Alexandra.

In addition to the rosemaries and the olive trees, the owners have a large vegetable garden and Stella's cooking often features fresh things from her garden. Her cooking was the finest we had on the whole island, without any exaggeration. She uses homemade fyllo dough for her pies, she has homemade jams and preserves, fresh salads from the garden, and her good taste allows her to offer amazingly delicious cuisine.

We were made to feel right at home, and it was very hard to say goodbye.

As the other reviewers mention a car is a must, the hotel is hidden among some small roads in the village of Minies. The location is very quiet, and the nearby airport is hardly a concern since even on the busiest days there are only a handful of flights. The aircraft are more of a curiosity than anything else.

We recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the warmest hospitality and also value for money.

We stayed 3 nights here.It is a big property which includes a main traditional kefalonian building, nice and colourful,a small house for the owners,a nice and big enough swimming pool, some tables and chairs under a huge olive tree and a lot of green grass, flowers and trees. There are several parking places of course. It is peaceful and calm. You can only hear birds singing and sometimes Djogo and Irma, the dogs of the house, barking. The nearby airport,is not a problem at all.Rooms are big enough, clean, with a small kitchen where someone can cook or make a coffee etc.The breakfast served in a wooden basket,is basic but very tasteful.People here make the difference.Mrs Stella(owner),her husband Lambros their daugther and housekeeper Alexandra are very friently and helpful. At the other side, there are some basic drawbacks. The potition where hotel is found,is away from everything. You must have a car to move all the time and the nearby beach is only acceptable among awesome beaches of the island. So ,if someone wants to relax in the nature for some days, this is the perfect place for it.

Room Tip: Try the Mrs Stella homemade cooking.

We were very happy to find this place and spend there a couple of days. The rooms are simple but sweet and spotless. Stella and Alexandra even offered taking care of our baby! We immediately felt like at home. Hotel's surrounding is beautiful and offers nice shade of the old olive trees. Stella is a very warm hostess and her cooking is amazing! We loved her warm breakfast but the lunches she made for us were the best we ever had on the island.
We definitely recommend this place to stay. Stella knows how to make her guests feel great.
