I had my wedding at La Bretesche and the staff was Professionel and just Amazing...
We loved everything there.
The food iis incredible at the main restaurant. They also have another restaurant less expensive , good for lunch, with a great view of the golf courses.
If you are visiting Nantes , La Baule , try to find few days to sop there... Horse back riding , walking , running we just few of the activities you can enjoy at this wonderful place....I will defenetlly come back...

Room Tip: Choose a room with a lake view in the main building... All the bedrooms are decorated differently.

We have just spent 2 nights at this wonderful hotel . The staff could not have been more helpful and polite - the hotel is set in the grounds of a magnificent chateau in acres of beautiful parkland full of trees many of which are over 100 years old. Our room was very well appointed and the air conditioning was a boon as we had daytime temperatures of well over 30 degrees. We ate one evening in the brasserie and one in the gastronomic restaurant . While the brasserie is fine with plenty of choice the gastro restaurant is just superb. OK yes it is pricey- but for a treat it is a real delight.
Breakfast in the restaurant is pricey at 23 euros but a continental breakfast is available in the brasserie for 10 euros.
Next time we are due a treat we shall certainly return

spent a long weekend at the Hotel & SPA de la Bretesche - what a wonderful place. Staff are very attentive and friendly and tried very hard to speak English as we ashamedly speak very little. The rooms are spacious, clean and have air conditioning which was essential for the weekend we stayed with temperatures in the high 20's. The rooms lacked tea/coffee making facilities or fresh fruit which most Relais's provide however the mini bar was well stocked. The restaurant was amazing and the food beautifully presented and gormet quality. Sunday Dining (which I gather isn't always available) the service was very slow - we booked for 7.30pm and had to chase the staff at 8.30pm and didn't leave the table until gone 10.45pm - all other nights were brilliant - it was probably the head chefs night off! the pool although not heated was very refreshing - they could do with more sun lougers as late afternoon there were often insufficient. there is plenty of car parking and close to the accommodation. The Spa was also excellent, there are plenty of treatments to select, the pool heated and generally a very relaxing experience. Do try the bikes, it's the only way to get around the grounds and there are half a dozen to choose from and well maintained. the grounds are vast and pathways and tracks follow the woods around the golf course with hidden self catering cottages amongst the trees. The cafe is also worth a visit we left just after lunch so had a club sandwich before we went and this was wonderful and very efficiently served. all in all thoroughly recommend and if we get the chance would go back without a doubt!

Room Tip: We stayed in the block by the outside pool which was very convienant also for the car parking and fo...

Amazing property in the stables/servants quarters on the grounds of a beautiful estate. Tons of activities-pool, golf, running trails, biking, etc-and a nice helpful staff. Rooms are massive and nicely appointed. Really is hard to leave the property as there is so much to see and do. I would easily rate the hotel as a "5" if it wasn't for the restaurant. The first night we ate the the bistro which, while not cheap, was good enough. Saturday night we ate at the Michelin starred gastronomic restaurant. I didn't think the food compared favorably with other similar restaurants and even worse the service was so slow a three course dinner took 3 and a half hours! Ouch. When I said something the manager told me service was better during the week and Friday and Saturday were usually slower because they were busy. I'd happily go back to the hotel but would skip the restaurant.

The hotel is in the grounds of the most beautiful Chateau, I believe it was the stables. The chateau sits on the side of a lake and the reflections are wonderful. It also acts as a magnificent backdrop to the 9th green. The Montagues is the gourmet restaurant and has a Michelin star so needles to say the food is of high quality and art on a plate. For more informal dining there is Le Club, a brasserie. We had room 19 and loved it. A contributor to Tripadvisor remarked that this was a room to be avoided, well that was in 2009. It has obviously been upgraded and was very comfortable with a great view of the lake and chateau. With great golf course and great food what more could you wish for.

We had a wonderful anniversary weekend stay here recently. Everything was top notch, echoing the reviewers comments here on TA. The food in the restaurant was absolutely superb and the wine list reasonably priced. The bar in the old stables is a real highlight too.
We will return!

Have stayed at both hotel and the cottages in the past with my husband however this trip was for 4 ladies on a golf weekend - arrived Friday morning and was told we had been given the largest cottage for the 4 day trip - this was no cottage, it was a 3 storey house!!! Absolutely stunning!!! We ate every night in the Clubhouse - great food and wonderful staff - thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend - so relaxing!!!
