“The hotel has seen better days, 3 star at best”
Reviewed July 9, 2012 via mobile

Ok, first the price is good, business room on fourth floor with an ocean view for 79 euro per night. Best thing about the hotel.

The front desk staff, well let us just say that it would not hurt to serve with a smile, any question seems to be too much to handle. A little service with a smile goes a long way.

The room is dated. The towels are like sandpaper, the plumbing seems to need repair - sink, tub and toilet. The table in the room was on its last legs.

No wifi in the rooms, only in the bar area, and this means literally only in the Bar area. This is a big disadvantage in this the 21 st century.

The bed was as hard as stone. No give whatsoever.

On the plus side, the non smoking nature of the hotel means that you can put the air conditioning on and not suffer. The breakfast is really good and the business centre offered free printing, which was good for boarding ticket printing. And the view was so nice to wake up to.

Overall this hotel needs some tender, loving care to restore it to its once better past.

Very unprofessional staff from check in to check out. I came from England for a professional meeting and on arrival to the check in desk I was astonished by the fact that the members of the staff didn't have any simple information about my meeting (e.g didn't recognised the name of the event, didn't know at all in which room of the hotel it was going to happen, didn't know that that meeting was taking place in their hotel!). On check out they demonstrated again their lack of professionalism with total lack of knowledge regarding transport to Lisbon railway station, booking for me a taxi with too short notice to arrive on time to the destination and I missed my train to Porto with a lot of stress for me and my daughters and extra expenses buying a new 80 euros ticket once the initial one was not refundable. I booked a few nights here and was happy with the location, room size and staff (excellent). I was disappointed the Wi-Fi wasn't working in the rooms and was told they ran out of vouchers. Additionally, the Sauna and workout facilities were also not operational. If you are going to advertise something make sure it works, if it is seasonal, then ensure it is not advertised. I will be staying in Cascais next time.

Room Tip: Call to verify that the amenities advertised are actually functional.

Without exception all of the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and happy. It made a real difference to our stay.

The public rooms are warm and comfortable, some of the furniture in the rooms is slightly dated and the bathrooms are due a renovation. Rooms rates were very good value. Unfortunately when we stayed the fitness centre and internet were both undergoing maintenance for the week which did detract from our stay.

The hotel is situated reasonably close to a great beach this is a good base from which to explore the local coastline. The local beach is great for surfing with plenty of hire shops and opportunities to hire an instructor. There is a busy main road between Carcavelos and the beach and use of the numerous pedestrian underpasses is definitely recommended.

A good hotel with exceptional staff who definitely made the visit worthwhile.

I ordered 4 nights at this hotel via hotels.com for me,my girlfriend and her cusin. The first thing the reception told me was to pay more since the cusin is 15 years old (children limit is 12 at the hotel). But how come i got the option choosing 15 at hotels.com? A few phonecalls to hotels.com confirmed that i should not pay anything more. I expected an Apology from the hotel, But they just left the reception area without saying anything.

I recommend that you google this hotel before thinking about staying here. The beds are hard as a rock. I didnt know beds could be this hard!

Coming to this hotel almost every year since 2008, you can easily recgonize how it was aging. Fortunately the cleanliness has never been an issue in this hotel and the friendliness of the staff is just great, the room furniture can to some degree no longer hide the frequent use.
The location of the Hotel provides good support with shopping centre next door, providing a food court an some restaurant just with in a fw meters from the front door. The horels Fitness facilities were currently under construction, so no info on them. The Spa in the basement of the hotel offers good sevice for a fair price. The breakdast buffet is okay but does not off much variation. Also healthy duets are hard to be follwed with this offer, but everything is fresh and constant supply is ensured. Currently the restaurant in the hotel was closed, so nothinf to report about this. The bar offers a fair chice if drinks and us nice place to rest or to meet.
The hotel offer solid conference rooms and is a good spot for such events.
Even though just few hundret meters from the beach, i would not recommend this place for family vacations. If you have a car or do not mind taxi farrs it mught be a reasonable choice for golfers. The hotel has greenfee arrangements with a couple of good courses in the Estoril an Lisbon region.
