“the right weekend to visit”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We were fortunate to be at fort George, when it was open to the public for the Jubilee celebrations, so we were privilaged to not only get to visit the Fort which is very interesting but we also got a historical day with lots of parades, and displays, we loved it!

“Interesting place to visit”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

It was the first operational historic site we visited. The history of the fort was interesting but the best part of all, it is still an operational military post. Soldiers still work and play every day on the post. You can visit the historic sites on the grounds along side modern facilities. Definitely a nice afternoon visit.

“Amazing celebration of the centuries”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

Historic Scotland hold an amazing festival around the middle of August each year - on a Saturday and Sunday. Fort George is an amazing complex with some wonderful views of the Moray Firth. The museum is a disappointment - but is being given a revamp, thanks to a generous donation by Hugh Grant and others. The complex is truly unique - well worth a visit.
