“Good average 4 stars hotel”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

Hotel is out of Milan town next to the highway. Ideally for groups by bus but away from metro. Hotel is 4 stars standard with spacious rooms, quiet big bathrooms and clean. Hotel restaurant serve very good tastful food but breakfast is pure. I was expecting something better from a 4star hotel.

Myself and my two young adult children stayed here from 23-28 December, yes we have one more night. I blindly booked this hotel on HOT-WIRE (I highly recommend not doing this especially for overseas trips).... I will never do HOT-WIRE again as soon as I read the reviews I felt stuck since its not refundable SO we decided to suck it up. As everyone has previously stated the hotel is too far from everything you would enjoy doing in Milan. The hotel offers a shuttle to the metro... (Metro is very easy to learn and get about once you get to it)... The issue with the shuttle is it leaves the hotel in the mornings every 30 minutes starting at 0730 with the last run being at 0930. In the evening it runs to the metro from 1830 to 2000. If you are this far from everything the shuttle service should be offered all day. Of course you can take a taxi to the metro which you may pay anywhere from 9-15 Euro depending on where the meter is when you get in the taxi... The hotel restaurant offers a minimal menu and for three of the nights only offered toast. The service station is not so bad and was a great back up for the evenings we came back early to the hotel or left late to get into Milan. I highly recommend you not stay here if you want to spend quality time in Milan and the surrounding area. Definitely not Priority Club Hotel quality.

This Holiday Inn was incredibly disappointing. It was not very well maintained or even that clean. The bathroom for example had water damage on the ceiling, chipped tiles, questionable material clogging the shower drain and the panel next to the sink was falling off the wall and black with mold! The room itself was fine. And the staff was friendly enough.

The location was easy with a car (right off of the motorway.) Upon check-in, we explained that we had parked in front of the hotel (rather than in the paying parking lot). We were then told that there was a possibility that someone might break into our car where it was and that we should move it to the paying lot with its 24hour guard (4 euros for the night - but it said more about the sketchy nature of the location). The front door of the hotel was locked so that no one could enter, except through the pay parking lot.

All in all, I would not return to this hotel - even with an amazing rate!

I booked this hotel because we were attending the Paul McCartney concert at the Mediolanum Forum and it was near the venue. The hotel itself is pleasant enough; the room was good and the staff helpful. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but we tried the bar and it was fine. If you are using public transport you will need to use shuttle bus which runs between the hotel and the Assago Forum Metro station. The shuttle bus is a good service , it’s free but only runs for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. Other times you will need a taxi from the Forum (€15 to €22). There is a well stocked petrol station next door if you need any food or basic provisions, other than there’s not much there apart from fields and motorway. Good value for money and ok for one or two nights but if I were to stay in Milan again I would probably choose somewhere else.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while working in a suburb of Milan nearby. Firstly, the hotel itself is quite well presented, rooms large and clean, serviced well. My room was ridiculously hot though, and had to sleep with the windows open the entire time. Breakfast had a good selection but quality of food was quite poor (e.g. bread/croissants very dry). Dinner was quite expensive compared to the quantity and quality of food, but it was pleasant. The bar area appeared closed for most of the stay, and not well staffed.

Secondly the location is essentially in a motorway service area. Therefore there is no way in or out without a car, and the hotel shuttle that runs to the Metro stops running at 8pm. If you don't know the area this can make finding a restaurant for an evening meal a little more challenging (especially in thick fog, which descended during my trip and did not move for 5 days!). However it makes convenient for getting to and from the airport if you have a car as you are already on the main ring road and don't have to negotiate lots of tiny one way streets etc.

Overall i would stay here again, but only if the price was right, or if there were no other options that had more dining options in the surrounding area.

The best two things about this hotel?....the orange juice machine in the restaurant and the motorway slip road leading away from the hotel!

Taxi fare from Malpensa airport between €95 - €110 for a 35 minute journey and approx €27 - €38 to the Duomo depending on time of day. Approx €12 to Assago forum metro station if you miss the seven seater 'shuttle'.

I recently stayed for nine nights in a party of fifty and its safe to say that this hotel has lost fifty future customers and all the people they tell about their stay here. I experienced nearly all items on the menu and all were over cooked, Beware if ordering vegetables they are simply taken off the 'buffet' counter rather than cooked fresh. The lady at the bar downstairs panicked when I asked for a cocktail and got a male colleague to make it. She also did not know what chardonnay wine is! Breakfast okay but yoghurts and cakes placed in the non- refrigerated display case the night before.

The beds were very comfy but rooms either too hot 27 degrees + or too cold. The controls did not work for any of our party. There was no 'do not disturb card', no tea/coffee making facilities, no hotel guide and only a few rooms had safes. The sink plug would not push up, no bath plug and a very dangerous shower mixer...either cold or scalding hot .. beware parents with young children taking a shower! Closing the window on the left meant that the right hand side opened up and vice versa! Several of my colleagues had food poisoning and if you're looking for pizza or spaghetti bolognese...forget it!

The whole hotel needs refurbishment but more importantly the restaurant should be closed and completely revamped...On four nights I really couldnt face the rubbish on offer so walked to the next door petrol station to have a roll and cake for dinner. The staff were generally very good but facing an uphill struggle in an old hotel. Reception told me that the hotel is full most nights with passing coach trips. This tells me the whole story that the hotel owners and management are clearly complacent and dont bother to try and impress their guests.

Im not an obsessive tripadvisor poster nor am I vindictive but i'm a gold priority club member and a big fan of all Intercontinental hotel brands typically staying around 25 - 30 nights a year. This hotel does a disservice to Intercontinental and gets my vote for the worst Holiday Inn i've ever stayed in.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing away from the Autostrada and with a safe.

It was a nice place for sure but location was not great if you are a tourist as you had to take the train to the last station on the green line. There was a shuttle to and from the hotel and station but not available all day. And the latest return was 8pm.
