“A great experience.”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We did not expect all that much when we visited and were afraid this might be over-hyped. Nope. The lighthouse and all of the park and shops were as pretty and perfect as could be. There was a painting workshop going on and all of the artists were out and about painting and then the art was sold at a central location. Very nice.

The lighthouse and rocks around it are worth several hours. We stayed the night nearby and came back at sunset again to have it more to ourselves. Well worth it.

The visitor area and some of the little shops were great. If you're into photography this place, in fact the entire little town, are full of opportunities.

“Hard to find a more picturesque spot than this!”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Came here on our trip through the Maritimes. Have seen pictures of the lighthouse and the village but pictures do not do it justice - you have to spend some time here to appreciate Peggy's Cove. We were lucky to be here on a relatively clear day with some cloud which actually made for some great photos. Also had lunch at The Sou'wester which was an excellent way to end our visit to this wonderful spot.

“Excellent Stop to See the Ocean”
Reviewed July 21, 2014 via mobile

Second time here last time all fogged in.
So it was a real treat to see the beauty and listen to the ocean while watching the never ending waves.
Stop in and check it out.

“A Place for Rock Hounds”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We went here on our first day in Halifax at the suggestion of the car rental folks. It is not a long drive from the city and all we wanted was to see the sea and smell the sea. Peggy's Cove is a perfect place to do this. There are little shops but we did not take advantage of them. We did look at the granite rock carving done by the local resident. It is very windy out here and the rocks are barren. We loved it. Take the time to read about the formation of the rocks before you go but don't bring your hammer!

“Beautiful during Tropical Storm Arthur”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

We arrived the day before the full wrath of the Tropical Storm hit Peggys Cove. It arrived in all of its glory the next day, taking out the power where we lodged. Nothing can be said to fully describe the waves and wind other than awesome. Peggy's Cove was beautiful during the storm. Waves crashed onto the rocks and gave a glorious display of power with the surf high and rough. Dangerous is a good way to describe the rocks surrounding the lighthouse, but people dared the strength and power of them. People are very friendly in this quaint town...be sure to check out the local shops and restaurants.
