This small, beautiful hotel - right on the beach - was perfect. Very comfortable. It has a private beach area and since it is situated amongst private vacation residences, you are away from any crowds. We were very happy with our choice. Cabin #11 is the closest one to the ocean.

If you are looking for a rustic place with a lot of charm then Las Sirenas is the place. There are cabins that sit right at the beach and some up on the hilltop. The beach is quiet and tranquil during the week but weekends are hectic with the locals visiting. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The staff very friendly even though they don't speak English. Make sure to stop at EL REY in Coronado for groceries on your way in as there are no local markets. The units have a refrigerator, small stove, coffee pot, dishes but no microwave or blender. They sell ice onsite and if you would like to bbq, they will come lite the bbq for you. It is a place that we will make a family favorite. The only negative is that the beds are all singles. We would have liked to have at least one room with a bed large enough for two.

This was my 5th stay at Las Sirenas and, once again, it was perfect!

I discovered this place 3 years ago: I needed to kill some time before the 3pm check-in at the Decameron resort, so I went poking around the town of Santa Clara and found these gorgeous little cottages. I was immediately disappointed that I had wasted money on Decameron, but promptly resolved this by making reservations as Las Sirenas that week and twice a year ever since.

This is absolutely the best place to go if you want to have that "away-from-it-all-totally-unplugged-but-not-actually-camping" experience. Here are my recommendations to make the best of your trip:

WHAT NOT TO EXPECT: room service, nightclubs, socializing with other guests, a bar, arranged activities

WHAT YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY GET: privacy, quiet, breathtaking nature and views, charmingly appointed, clean and air-conditioned rooms.

TIPS:
If you have a family, reserve one of the larger cottages at the top of the hill. The views are spectacular, you'll have an outdoor grill, but you have a bit of a walk down to the beach.
If you are just a couple, or have a large group (more than six) rent the cottages that are right on the beach. I had my wedding here last April and I rented all 6 houses side-by-side for the week. My parents, in-laws, and siblings absolutely loved it.
Best time to come is during the week. I usually try to arrive on Sunday and leave on Thursday to avoid the weekend beach visitors.
Definitely bring your own groceries and bar/beverage supplies. The grocery store in Coronado (25 min away) is a great place to make your first big purchase of supplies, then you can replenish drinks and basic food stuffs from the little cash only mini-mart that is right at the entrance to Santa Clara (5 min away).

This is a wonderful place to stay and I highly recommend it for anyone that really wants a private getaway for a reasonable price.

Just got back from our third stay at Las Sirenas. A beautiful quiet beach, a pleasant, roomy cottage with a covered patio right on the beach. The on-site staff doesn't speak English but they're helpful and friendly. Grounds are beautiful. A perfect place to relax a few days, read books, walk the beach. Best to buy groceries in Coronado because there aren't many restaurants nearby and local grocery store is really limited. There's one restaurant within walking distance. Easy to get to Las Ssirenas by bus from Panama City and local taxis are cheap. They have a retiree rate.

From the moment you arrive at Las Sirenas you become aware of the beauty that surrounds this paradise. Total relaxation is the order of the day--- a spacious terrace, a hammock, and a magnificent view of the ocean create a mystical feeling that completely transports you to that small and idyllic paradise. Get in touch with El Zurdo, and he will bring you all the seafood you want - the staff will accommodate all your needs - enjoy the white sandy beach - the beautiful sunsets - and ... please ... don't forget to feed my cats.
What a great vacation !!! Las Sirenas offers everything you need for a relaxed visit. Enjoy !

All things considered, Las Sirenas is a good deal for the price. The location on Santa Clara beach is outstanding and the rooms even include beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The rooms could use a remodeling, as they are showing some wear and tear (missing handle on the closet door, outside light not working, outside shower not working properly, etc). Take note that there is air conditioning only in the bedrooms, not the living room/kitchenette. However, the beachfront location makes up for these negatives. I would stay here again.

I have just returned from my 4th stay at Las Sirenas in Santa Clara. If you want to get away from it all, this is definitely your place. The cabins on the hilltop are well-equipped, nicely updated, clean and very comfortable. The staff is courteous, friendly and will help you in any way they can. You can't beat the views either at sunrise or sunset from your own terrace. The grounds are well-maintained --- there is a sense of tranquility, an atmosphere of complete peacefulness and serenity --- with only the sounds of the birds, the resident peacock and the cool breezes coming from the ocean. I often refer to Las Sirenas as "my slice of heaven" --- a mystical spot on Panama's Pacific Coast !!!
I highly recommend this hotel for your next getaway.
