Stayed here for an international convention. We had an atrium view room which was beautiful. Looked through the hotel out to the Potomac. We were on the 5th floor (5205) and the room was VERY quite. I had no trouble sleeping despite some of the other comments people have made. They do play music with the "dancing fountains" but I couldn't really hear it from our room. The bar in the hotel isn't very big but the staff was very accomadating. They also have a rooftop bar which was nice.

Only realy problem is the resort is about 10 miles from the DC area. Much closer to Alexandria which is nice if you want to stroll along the sites there. But, if you are planning a trip to DC with family for the Capital and Monument experience this is way off the beaten path. The harbor is nice and they are making an effort to revitalize the surrounding area but still not much to do outside the resort.

Room Tip: Atrium view is nice but ask for either higher floor or rooms away from the music of the fountains.

This is a convention center. I am here to attend a national conference of professional substance abuse counselors. We picked the perfect venue. Anyone who got stuck with an atrium room who has access to drugs or alcohol is going to need professional help.

40 minutes and counting in the 90 minutes that they have been blaring music from loudspeakers outside my room.

A band in the bar? NO! The same loud extravagant music that the polish national gymnastic team plays during the olympics. Is there a gymnastics competition in the lobby? No. Ice dancing in the atrium? No.

They just do that every hour or two for fun. Just in case a guest might have a headache or need a rest before a flight or after a long day of work. Because for only $300 a night, a guest does not deserve to have any rest.

Room Tip: If they let you choose, pick a room as high as possible, on the OUTSIDE, away from the loudspeakers.

I am here for the National Council on Behavioral Health and the convention space is fantastic. Very spacious and even with 4000 people flows well. The place on the Harbor is beautiful and the attached hotel is also gorgeous. If your going to have a National event then this is a great place to have it.

Hoping that now this is owned by Marriott it will improve. There is not anything really wrong the Gaylord is just old looking and outdated which is a shame as it is a fairly new hotel. All I can say is that it is average with great views of the harbor from the common areas.

I hope to attach a photo of what was called a "river view."
Yes - you can see the river through the steel framing - but really - what world do these
people live in? I bet the jail in Fort Lauderdale has a better river view. I enjoyed watching the fountain and the delight of kids moving to the music and water.
Stupid design of beds. The corners are designed to catch feet and shins. If that was the intent, good design. Clean room, everything works. No tea so bring your own. Huge place and a good work out getting around the corridors.
