The cottage is perfectly located to many lovely points of interest, from the 'Falls of Foyers' to Fort Augustus and the quaint town of Dores on the banks of Loch Ness. A beautiful scenic drive brings you into Inverness which is the hub of the highlands and a typically busy modern city just plopped down in the middle of the most breathtakingly gorgeous snow capped hills and mountains.
Accommodation was neat, clean (with everything needed to hand) and dog friendly, however small dogs should be kept on a lead as they can easily escape through the boundary fence.
Wildlife included a herd of stag in full antler near Tarff (literally right near the roadside which made for great photo's). Frolicking Hares at the cottage who had arranged a morning of track racing through the garden and a wide variety of bird life. Silence in the evenings was so relaxing and the unpolluted skies made for an amazing display of stars.
We had such a wonderful time at Skoorah. Very clean and tidy accommodation. Wanted for nothing. It really does feel like a home from home. The grounds are lovely, the area is stunning. Our dog Roxy loved her stay. Lots of nearby walks. 15 minutes or so drive to Dores Inn on Loch Ness, Only a further 10 minutes or so to Inverness City. Skoorah is far enough out to be quite secluded.
Fabulous place. really can't praise it enough. Already recommended to friends and family.
We have just returned from a short break at Skoorah, and will most certainly be returning!
First time taking our two dogs on holiday so we opted for this detached cottage and were really pleasantly surprised at just how massive it is!
Skoorah was warm on arrival and immediately won my teenage son over as soon as he saw that he had the whole downstairs to himself (well that and the broadband lol!). The space is fantastic inside and the garden was perfect forthe dogs who were in sniff heaven!
There are many beautiful scenic places nearby and we were lucky enough to see deer, red kites & black grouse nearby.
Turan was very accommodating with us and went out his way to help with a request we made, responding very quickly to emails. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed from kitchen roll and washing liquid/sponge to cling film!
If you're after a little slice of peaceful bliss in which to unwind, then head to Skoorah.
Lovely, cosy, warm, neat, family and pet friendly cottage with a fantastic host!
Location is amazing, beautiful walks and views and short distance to local towns/shops.
We will be coming back again.
