Stayed just one night( thank God ), we got room 210...
We we down for a relatives mass & decided to treat ourself, big mistake. Room was ok & bed comfy enough. Bathroom was not the cleanest, window & curtain really filthy. Also outside the bathroom window somewhere was the most dreadful banging sound, like water pipes, it was bad, my husband did want to complain but I said sure it should stop at some stage..... how wrong I was. We were wrecked the next morning, complained at checking out & just got a shoulder shrug & asked for my money. We will never ever be back & as we have relatives in the area they also know our story. It was a long drive back to Wicklow to get some sleep.

We stayed in the hotel on Thursday and Friday, as we got a really good rate for a two night stay. We were given a complimentry upgrade as we check in, purley due to the fact that we had stayed once before. We were checked in by an Australian manager, who seemed to have a great knowledge of the local area and things to do, unfortuately the weather did not co-operate, as many of the activities are outdoor based. Never the less we were able to pass the the time in the bar! (cosy but quite), which also seemed to be run by the same man, who provided a great bit of banter over the afternoon. I look forward to returning soon for a pint a a chat! (PS: Good food specials as well.)

I booked a week-end in the Lismore Hotel for the end of August 2009. On arrival I noticed that there was a disco on in the hotel on the Saturday night. I informed the person at reception that as I had to exit at 7am on Sunday, I would appreciate being accommodated in a room away from the disco. I was allocated room 101. It was a most unpleasant experience and an experience which could have and should have been avoided. We were subject to the noise from the disco until 2pm. the light outside the disco laminated room 101 and it was not turned off until 3pm. The crowd from the disco assembled on the street outside our room and did not clear until 3.50 pm. Lismore is a nice town but there can be no excuse for the attitude and the level of service displayed on our visit to the hotel this august.

The Lismore House Hotel was fantastic, really clean. The staff was great, really helpful and gave us lots of indications on where to go. We stayed there for 3 days and loved the surroundings and zone the lodge was placed. We liked the town and the natural sights. Another good and yummy part was the food! The breakfast and dinner were really yummy!
We will definitely consider coming again!!

Attended a wedding in the Lismore Suite - which was fantastic. The atmosphere created by the staff here was great, my cousins were delighted with their day. We also stayed the night in the hotel and the rooms are beautiful, very classic and warm feeling with All the rooms ( as we peeked in some of our other friends rooms also) - Staff were very helpful and courteous - whenever travelling through Waterford again will definitely be staying here - Thanks for a great day.

We booked this hotel online - it looked good on the website and was unbelievably cheap - only €48 for a double room. We were so surprised when we got there - the room was gorgeous, and spotlessly clean- like a 4 star hotel in the UK - bathroom was a little small but very nicely kitted out. The view from our bedroom of Lismore Castle was amazing.

The staff couldn't have been nicer - As it is a small place they all seem to help out everywhere - serving coffee, working at reception etc. The breakfast was top class and really all in all we had no complaints. In fact it was a really nice experience, different from the large impersonal hotels that seem to be popping up everywhere. We will be recommending this hotel to our friends and thank you Lismore for a great stay.

Booked this hotel as a last minute break. Wish we had picked somewhere else though. The hotel website made this place out to be luxury it boasted blackout blinds & Playstation in the room. On arrival into the room, there were no blackout blinds or Playstation, the bed sheets looked shabby and had a hole in them, hardly luxury.

From here it only got worse as when we went to use the bathroom there was no hand soap. Only two little bottles of shower gel. Assuming that the soap was not replaced, I went to reception to look for soap.

I felt like I was asking for something out of the ordinary when asking for soap, I was questioned about whether it was in the room or not. In normal hotels you are just given something as basic as this, without batting an eyelid. After the questioning I was given more of the little bottles of shower gel. They were impossible to open and squeeze the contents out, and not hand soap! In the end had to buy our own soap to wash our hands.

Stay elsewhere and come to Lismore on a day trip instead. There are some nice pubs and food with real locals who are friendly and will chat away to you, just avoid this place.
