The Chemin de Fer or 'way of steam' if my GCSE French is correct is a railway that connects the towns of Cayeux sur Mer, St Valery sur Somme and Le Crotoy together which together orbit the Baie de la Somme. The Railway which used both diesel and steam engines transports you back in time traversing through idyllic French countryside and poppy fields before leaving at St Valery sur Somme. The railway itself is naturally quite bumpy but both smaller children and teenagers will reconnect with the yesteryear experience that is the Chemin de Fer. A attraction suited to all, the Chemin de Fer offers affordable tickets to the jewels of the Baie and is the icing on the cake of visits to St Valery and Le Crotoy.
