We've stayed at Boisfontaine four times now and each time has been excellent. It's a lovely period property in a quiet spot perfectly placed for the old town and the harbour, with lovely views over the bay. Breakfast is substantial - fresh bread, croissants and pastries with homemade jams served in the dining room overlooking the bay. The British owners, Paul and Barbara, are friendly hosts and will give helpful tips on restaurants and activities in the local area. The rooms are very well appointed - our favourite is the yellow room which is the largest, on the top floor with fantastic views. The rooms in the cottage are lovely too and you have use of the lounge as well - a good choice if travelling with friends/family. There are lots of restaurants in St Valery, though they vary in quality. We've had good meals at Nicols (traditional French), the Guillaume Hotel (more upmarket French), Tante Olympe and Sel et Sucre (creperies with extensive savoury and sweet menus). We'll definitely stay here on our next annual trip to St Valery.
