“World's Highest Cricket Ground now at New Lows!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

It seems good to know that the worlds highest pitch (a heritage site) is in Chail India, but it is sad to learn that it is not in use and deteriorating day by day due to administrative apathy. Set up in 1893 by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh this ground is out of Guiness book of world records since no active matches are played here due to the ground being smaller and not meeting international standards. The state governments have been making impractical promises to redesign the ground to meet international standards (which is practically impossible)
The bare minimum the government can do is to build a cricket musuem here so that we do justice to this heritage site..
Currently visiting this place as a cricket ground is worthless however at night time you can get an amazing view of Satluj Valey, Shimla, Kasauli & the Himalyan range.

“Just a place, nothing great”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

The only thing is the history of the ground. The walk to the ground from Chail Bazaar is steep, the ground is now a part of Rashtriya Military Academy and is closed most of the time.
