We stopped at the Charles Goodnight Historical Center today. We enjoyed the visitor center and the information available. Then we took a tour of the house. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and fun to listen to. The home had been restored beautifully and is a testament to the people who settled our great country!

Learn and see about Charles and Mary Ann "Molly" Goodnight's life, work, passions, and home. Tour their home-ranch to learn even more than the 3 videos and displays in the visitor center offer. Karli Fields, who played at the house as a child, served as a very good guide to the home. Don't forget to see the bunkhouse, Boy Scout Eagle Project dugout replica, and. beautiful sculpture by Vera Goodnight. Descendents of original buffalo can be seen near the vsitor center.
About 2 miles away is the cemetery where the Goodnights are interred.

We visited with one retired Texas history teacher, and two teenagers and their mother. Really cool visit and insight into the important history of the area, insight into the cattle ranching, the canyon, and the history with Quanah and the Native American tribes. We enjoyed our 45-minute tour with the local tour guide, seeing the authentic and time period Furniture and decorations. Great stories, cool little Museum adjacent. Highly recommend for anyone interested in Texas history.
