“The best part of our Holiday!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

We stayed at this hotel on our first day during our trip to Sicily. We checked in slightly early because we wanted to sort out our luggage before roaming around the area. We were given better rooms then we booked for no additional cost. We were shown around the villa and given a welcome drink.

We decided to eat at the hotel for €28 per person which includes several plates of antipasto, pasta/rice, meat and fruit. The food here was amazing, the best we had eaten during our stay in Sicily.

The breakfast is also incredibly good. There was scrambled eggs, sausages, croissants, fruit, bread, cheese, ham, home made marmalades, etc.

The pool is a small one, but you can enjoy the lovely scenery while having a swim or while at the jacuzzi.

The rooms are clean and well decorated.

The only negative side of this villa is that you should have a car to go there and part of the road to it is unpaved. Another thing which was missing and we would have liked to have is a fridge. Other than that, everything is perfect. We are already looking forward to spending a couple of days there again.

We stayed at Vecchia Masseria for the last few days of our trip round eastern Sicily and would thoroughly reccomend this great agriturimso for its charm, superb food and ambience.
Philipe, Faten and Angelina made us feel very welocme and nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding and good value for both the quality and variety of typical Sicilain dishes.
The courtyard and pool area were delightful with extensive views across the valley from the popular hot tub. The boys enjoyed a late aftenoon out on the quad bikes whilst we had a really enjoyable morning walk through the local hills to a spectacular viewpoint. Villa Romana Del Casale with its stunning mosaics is just a 30 minute drive away and well worth an early morning visit to avoid the crowds.

Room Tip: The separate rooms and suites away from the main building and courtyard have their own shaded relaxi...

This hotel is approached on a narrow dirt road off a country highway, but it has a gorgeous setting, from which you can see valleys, farms, mountains, and even Mt. Etna. It is a handsome old building which has been carefully updated. The rooms are simple, clean, and stylish. It is small, and only serves breakfast and dinner, but the food is superb.

We were lucky to find this accommodation purely by chance and have already recommended it widely since our return. The hotel is approached by a long drive which conveys a pleasing feeling of remoteness. The buildings have been lovingly restored to their former glory. We had a suite of rooms upstairs looking over the valley. The food was uniformly good throughout the six days we spent there. There are plenty of things to see and do locally if you can pull yourself away from the very comfortable poolside area. The staff are exceptionally friendly and speak a variety of languages apart from Italian including German French and English.

Room Tip: We had the one up the stone steps with view of valley

We spend two wonderful weeks in the beautiful Sicilian world of Philipe, his girlfriend and their friendly staff. Wow, what a beautiful Agriturismo is this!
Vecchia Masseria lies in the middle of nature, surrounded by forrest. It can be reached by an unpaved road which can be reached via SS117bis (Enna-Gela). Rent a car so you are very flexible to reach all the spots of Sicily within 1,5 hour. Piazza Armerina is a 15 minute drive also Caltagirone is a 15 minute drive.
The hotel is in one word: beautiful. Good eye on detail and provided by everything you need to have a relax holiday under the Sicilian sky. Philipe, his girlfriend and their friendly staff gives you the idea your part of the family. Dinner, lunch and breakfast are biologic and the most of the food is from their own land. The taste is delicious! Philipe gives you also advice for the best trips.
Book this hotel if you want to escape your busy life. Surrender to the Sicilian dolce vita!

This was our 4.th year at this fantastic place - it is definately among the best places to stay in Sicily. Great food, fantastic surroundings - cats and dogs for the children, pool and spa. Just about everything to make your holiday perfect :) Only bad thing this year was the rain- and really that wasn't that bad.

No words can describe this hotel farmhouse. It's like paradise. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. Food very good, for 28 euro per person you have a 4 course meal including wine, soft drinks, coffee and liqueor. We enjoyed it so much that we're planning another holiday there. The only problem is that you need a car.
