“worth the visit”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Many stairs to claimed, but really different with all the painted tiles.
We bought the traditional ceramics in the number 45, which was much cheaper than other stores and better colors and quality.

“Stairway to heaven”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Beautifully tiled risers to take to an unbelievable view of Caltagirone.
Must be reasonably fit or take your time to the top.
The Ceramic laboratory is worth looking into as they make and paint the magnificent pieces on the premises, and are sold cheaper than in other parts of Sicily.
Take a look at the Ceramiche Artifacts across the road at the bottom of the stairs where you can buy hand made ceramics of figurines depicting Sicilian Peasants and Sicilian life in general

“Beautiful views, not the usual tourist trap!”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

We live in Sicily (stationed here with the military), and this is by far my favorite place to go! We always bring visitors here. The steps are gorgeous, with each riser tiled differently. The shops are fun to peek into, and the view from the top can't be described! Take your time on the climb and peek into the shops as you go. Great for kids to run up and down the steps. Park at the top of the town (free parking lot overlooking the valley), and walk your way down the side streets to the bottom of the steps. Once you're at the top, visit the church. Instead of walking back down the steps, take the street to the right as far as you can, and you'll be treated to a gorgeous view over the valley! (General travel tip in Italy: the "BAR" is a coffee shop and will always have a restroom. It's customary to make a purchase if you use the facilities.)

“Only for the fitness gurus”
Reviewed January 6, 2013 via mobile

This attraction is beautiful - but do not attempt to climb the 142 steps unless you are readonably fit.

However, if you do, the effort is worth the view of Caltagirone from the top.

Simply breathtaking!

Make sure you take the time to visit the many ceramic shops in the area also.

Many side streets offering local produce.

“Have to see this if in Caltagirone, go early to avoid crowds”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We got there at 9am and got a few photos before the busloads of tourists arrived which was good.
Lots of ceramic shops around the area as well.
