Rosa was a welcoming host and the room was spacious and offered outstanding views of the central city. The location was central with free parking near by. Rosa also offered a quality breakfast which included homemade pastries.

Located within easy walking distance of "La Scala" and all the main sites of the medeival town Caltagirone. We stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment with access to a roof terrace and garden where we were served breakfast. The host was quite friendly and accomodating. Breakfast included fresh squeezed orange juice that she made with local oranges. The host speaks little English, but we managed to communicate what we needed all the same. As one other reviewer mentioned, it can be difficult to find the first time. Caltagirone has many narrow, steep, and one-way streets that most Americans will not be accustomed to. Overall, it was a great place and I would stay there again without hesitation.

Piccolo Attico is a wonderful bed and breakfast in the heart of old town Caltagirone. Rosa Maria, the host is very welcoming and helpful. We should have asked for directions before coming as we drove in circles trying to find it. Get GPS or ask Rosa Maria for directions. She was kind to come and fetch us a few squares away where we were fortunate to find a traffic police that called her on our behalf. She even insisted in carrying my heavy bag up the stairs. Our room was very comfortable, clean and spacious with views and Wi-Fi. Rosa Maria’s breakfast was amazing, sitting atop the world overlooking the city. She bakes all her own treats as she was a professional baker for many years. She sent us home with some of her special candied Quince. Although our Italian was not very good, we were able to communicate. She shared her family album with us which was fascinating. I would recommend everyone Piccolo Attico for a stay in Caltagirone!

I can thoroughly recommend this B&B. We arrived tired and worn out after a long drive but left happy and refreshed. Spotless rooms and ours had a view of Etna. Rosa's breakfast was one of the best in Sicily. We had breakfast with two other couples and what we lacked in Italian we were able to make up in French. They gave us plenty of tips on places to see on our route and restaurants to try as well as being huge fans of Rosa's kitchen. Her quince jelly and sweets were particularly good.

If you go to Sicily you must go to Caltagirone, and when you go to Caltagirone you must stay at the Piccolo Attico.
My wife and I spent 4 nights here.
Excellent rooms. Clean and very well appointed.
The owner Rosa Marie is the very best, very friendly and makes you feel welcome from the very first minute you arrive until the last minute you depart.
Her story's of her family in Sicily make you feel right at home.
Her homemade pastry, breads and marmalade that are served for breakfast are the best in Sicily.
It was difficult to leave Caltagirone, Piccolo Attico, Rosa Marie and all the homemade pastry.
We spent a total of 21 days in Sicily, our stay here was the BEST of the trip.
We hope to return some day.

Gospodyni - Maria Rosa to przemila, ciepla osoba, dbala o nasze wygody i uprzedzala zyczenia. Oczywiscie polecam samo Caltagirone - jedno z najpiekniejszych miast Sycylii - dla mnie odkrycie roku.

We spent three weeks in Sicily in Oct, and we also spent a couple of weeks in Sicily two years ago and this is our favorite B&B! Rosa Maria (the owner) was extremely nice, sincere, helpful, and did everything she could to make our stay pleasurable. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and had two small balconies. The breakfast room/roof top terrace is wonderful, as are Rosa Maria's homemade sweets. The terrace was accessible all the time, so we had a romantic dinner there and watched the clouds and mist circle around the domes and campanile of Caltagirione.
The location is ideal, and the city of Caltagirione is wonderfully atmospheric. If you are interested in architecture and cities in general, Caltagirione is lovely for just aimlessly wandering. Also try the local Caltagirone pecorino cheese with pepper which you can get at the small deli diagonally across from the B&B. We stayed 2 nights but wished we could have stayed longer.
