I went there with friends. Since it was a small trek we decided to start our hike from Pothanplavu itself. After an hour or something the tar road turned to mud road and soon it turned to a typical village trail. Because the road comes really nearby the peak, its easily accessible by everyone and the garbage they put in. The hike is good, a bit tiring if you do it in one go. Make sure you keep some snacks with you because you wont get anything at the peak. We couldnt get much views from the peak as there was lot of mist. But still it was nice to walk in that chilly, foggy weather.
When we went to peak there were lot of local people already there, shouting and talking. So if you are expecting some scenic beauty go there, but if you need some silence, then I suggest choose some thing else.
