“Beautiful View”

Well maintained and offering a very picturesque view, the Fort is a protected monument. It gives a beautiful view of the Mappila Bay area from 3 sides and offers one of the best photography options in kannur.

“Pleasant way to spend an hour”

The best thing about Kannur is the beaches either side of the town. The town is fine for provisions and a bit of bustle. For a quiet break from this the fort is worth a visit.

“A very groomed and attractive garden with portuguese remains”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

The perfect place to relax after a day of shopping in Kannur and visiting the handweavers (Loknath). ... very appreciated by locals too, the place appears like a "ruin decorated park" with old trees, soft lawns and the impressive Latherit stone walls of the old fort.

Fort Angelos is a short drive from the city centre and boasts of a soothing view of the sea, green gardens, with beautiful yellow flowers, and a few canons. Reminds me of Fort Aguada, Goa. The cantonment area nearby has well-manicured lawns and would be a photographer's delight. The rocks at the edges make for an excellent chill-out perch. There is a little sea food stall outside - which we didnt try but is apparently a good stop.
