“Great location, not such a great hotel.”
Reviewed October 23, 2013 via mobile

My family stayed here for one night and to be honest we could have been in a typical 3 star hotel in England there were so many English guest's. This is not our type of hotel, we came to experience the real Italy, but for a one night stop over between Porto Ercole and lake garda it was ok to enable us to visit venice. Breakfast ok but make sure you get everything you want by 10am or you will get told off!

Hotel has carpark which is good but that´s about it. Not very clean (hair left on the walls in the bathroom), no kettle in the room to make a cup of tea, needs soundproofing and absolutely no help to arrange breakfast for someone with food allergies.

Booked a NCL cruise and this was the hotel given as part of the package, stayed 3 nights, we had room 302 the view was of a container for air con.....no view the rooms are basic but clean, shower as other guests have said was so small I have never been in such a small one ok if a size 8-10 but that I am not so difficult.... Breakfast was good and staff friendly, 30mins outside if Venice, bus across road no 19, the multi use buss, boat tickets can be purchased from the tobacco shop across from hotel, good value worth getting if going on the boats, on that go to the lido if it's hot free beach, nice shops and we got a nice meal for 4 about 60.00 with wine. There is a cafe serves cheap drinks and snacks next to hotel, also a good Resterant within 5 mins walk, would I go back no... But hoilday was cheap so you get what you pay for. Hotel offer a transfer to ship around 30EURO for 4 people

This hotel is very close to the airport and offers a shuttle service for a fee and close to car rental agencies. The room I had was clean but had dated dark furnishings and bedding so it felt a bit gloomy. The sleep quality was good. We arrived late so the restaurant was already closed (after 10 p.m.) but there was a lovely pizzeria a few minutes walk away. The lady at reception on arrival was very friendly and welcomed us with a smile. The free wifi was not working very well and we gave up after a few attempts. The hotel is fine for an overnight stay.

I chose it because of an offer with good price and the vicinity to the airport as i had an early flight in the morning. The area is ugly, the hotel clean, old and room very basic. Breakfast excellent for italian standards, staff polite although they forgot my wake up call (!) and when I mentioned the man at the reception didnt either said "sorry"... Transfer to the airport (5 min drive) 20 €, too expensive

We stayed at this hotel for three days after a week's Adriatic cruise starting and finishing in Venice. When deciding where to stay, we realised it was important to be near the airport for our departure and thank goodness we did. Hotel Ducale fitted the bill exactly. Ok there is a twenty minutes bus ride [No 19 from across the road] to get into the city, but it came every fifteen minutes during the day. The only problem is that it is always busy and these buses don't have a lot of seats - everyone seemed used to standing. The shop across the road from the hotel sold unlimited travel tickets based on the number of hours required - we bought 72 hour tickets for 35 euros which was brilliant value as it allowed travel on the waterbuses as well as the road ones. Very good value considering we spoke to someone who had to get a waterbus from the Lido to the airport for the plane and it cost them 100 euros each. The hotel itself is great value - room was fine, tho the bed was a bit low. Bathroom was adequate with good towels - shower was a squeeze to get into tho. There was a hairdryer on the wall, which was useful. The breakfast was excellent be it continental with cereals, fruit, meats, cheese, yoghurts, hardboiled eggs, breads and lots of cake! We were given loads of information by the staff about getting around Venice and provided a really useful map. There was also a lovely restaurant along the road - about 10 minutes walk - which was extremely good value. The restaurant will give a free drink if you show their card stamped from the hotel.

Fair to say it is located in Favaro. .not central Venice, but for us all quite good.yes the #19 bus is around the corner and you can buy your tickets across the road! We had 3 in a room so very tight! The breakfast was fine..basic but good coffee and pastries.Air con was not so good. Oh and do not go to breakfast at 5 to 10..you will be told-it strictly finishes at 10!..really all was fine. And value for money!
