Nimule Resort
Ranked #5 of 31 Juba B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 14, 2013

This resort is very close to the Juba international Airport and is one of the very few good resorts/hotels/ restaurants of Juba. This resort boasts of a nice clean pool alongside which a few tables have been laid out. In the evenings the ambiance and crowd is good. In case you are looking for some good Indian food, the hotel has an Indian Manager who can understand your taste and get the things ready as per that.

It is not only limited to Indian food, we tried some local fish and chicken made in Sudanese Style which was also acceptable. Price-wise a dinner for 2 should cost approximately 100 south Sudanese Pounds or 25$ which includes some beer or cold drinks as well.

The hotel has a well guarded perimeter and room rates could vary from anything from $70 to $120 Per night. However, I never stayed in the hotel just used it's restaurant which is god enough.

I'm not sure why Nimule is listed as a B&B because it is a hotel with a full service restaurant. It also has a nice pool with comfortable sunbeds. The charge to use the pool for non-residents is SSP50 which isn't a bargain but the pool and surrounding area are clean and pleasant looking and it's very quiet in the weekdays which is great if you happen to work shifts like I do because there are unlikely to be more than one or two others there. At the weekends it gets much busier, unless it's cool or rainy, and you would need to be there by 1130 to get a sunbed (although people start to leave again by about 1500). One thing that's good considering it might be pushing your budget to come here a lot is that the staff never pressure you to order food or drink, although that also means you might have to go find them if you do want something.

They have a membership offer of $200 a month which makes no sense to me because you would need to be swimming 16 times to spend that much. It does include use of the sauna and steam room (which are not available to non members) but there's also a sign saying those are only open to women on Mondays. Both facilities are also quite small. Given all this, I really can't see why membership would be beneficial.

The other thing they need to improve is the ladies changing room - the shower floods the entire place (they just need to put some kind of step in!). Also a bench and curtain to change clothes would be good given the wet floor issue and the fact that the door opens right onto the path on the way to the men's changing room. Basically it just needs a bit of a face lift. It's strange that it's quite grotty because the pool area and the hotel rooms (from the look of the balconies) are well maintained.
