A great find tucked on a dusty and unmade road between Juba and Gdele. The staff are very helpful and accommodating and the food is very good and reasonably priced for the region (especially with the unstable economy at the moment). The pool and facilities are clean and good sun loungers. Frequented by lots of NGO and UN staff who work nearby at UN House and favoured with Internationals. The security is very good and I did feel safe whilst visiting. There is a national curfew in place so be mindful of this as it is not safe to travel in curfew hours and I would recommend avoiding driving to and from Jebel Lodge in hours of darkness. Service is a bit slow and check your bill and you have to ask for change as the girls seem to assume it’s a tip. Day passes are available if you just want to use the facilities and have a great lunch in clean and comfortable settings, 120SSP at weekends

Jebel is very isolated place located 10kms from Juba town. Roads are not constructed and there is a mountain which is called Jebel. Not advised to visit this area after 8pm as ppl snatch away mobiles and money. Lodge is OK. Not upto the standards. Small vendors are found around selling mangoes and top ups.

Nice hotel with bungalows in a garden setting. Nice ambience with an outdoor restaurant next to the inground pool. A pleasant oasis close to the very busy Gudele area. The access road to the Lodge from Gudele road has recently been upgraded so access to and from now quite good. The bungalows have a basic but adequate standard, rooms are neat and clean. the staff at the Lodge very friendly and helpful. A special bonus is the transport option for drop off and pickup in Juba on offer.

I stayed three weeks at Jebel Lodge and got to know most of the staff, from the waiters to the management, on a personal basis. They are one of the greatest assets of this place. They dissolved that feeling you get when you're planted in a strange hotel in a strange place and made it feel like you were home amongst friends.
The food was very good. The breakfast buffet was ample if not exciting, the Panini sandwiches were a joy, and the steaks and chops were great. Ask for a side of mushroom gravy to go with your mashed potatoes.
The rooms, although stark, were okay. They were converted steel cabins. Plenty of room but not much ambience. I got the last one way on the end so it was a bit more stark than the others, but many of the ones in close had small porches to sit on to enjoy the soft Sudanese evening and gave you a more rustic feeling. Do not expect a 5 star accommodation - they are simply a basic room in a lovely setting.
It is the grounds of the hotel that win the day for this place. I spent days hanging out there, soaking up the lush atmosphere. There is not much to do in Juba, so staying at a place like this where the pool is crisp and clear, that African tropical feeling is all around you, and you are in the midst of a great bunch of friends who actually enjoy your company more than makes up for any detractions.
Thanks Alex, for a wonderful time. Tell all my friends amongst the help there that I'll be back.

Was very pleased with Jebel Lodge. The property was beautiful, with lots of plants and a nice view of the hill. The cottages were prefab. Nice furniture, bathroom, bed. Meals were fine. Quiet. No complaints.
