Of the hotels I've visited in Juba, Jebel Lodge is probably the most pleasant. I had two stays there - once for 3 weeks, and then for 2 weeks.

The biggest drawback to the place is that its a little bit out of town. On the other hand, there are benefits to its location such as lower humidity and possible lower temperatures. But you spend good time going over bad roads on your way into Juba proper.

The facilities are all of the temporary knock-down build, but they are either en-suite studios or two room villas. They are very well maintained by the Jebel crew.

The best part of Jebel is the gardens and the pool. The pool, bar, and restaurant are all in one very nice area, and the villas are scattered amongst a very nice garden. When the weather allows it, its a very nice place to wander.

As with most hotels in Juba, its difficult to secure rooms there. But I would think it would be first choice for a medium-long term stay as long as transportation is available.

Room Tip: If there's a choice, stay as far from Rock City as possible. The weekends are quite loud.
