“Go for the view!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012 via mobile

Can't join in on the other comments about the food, as I just went there for drinks but it was well worth it. When you need to take a break from the Juba's dust, roads, markets and bustle head for this calming oasis and chance to watch the world pass by on the Nile. Polite staff and you get left in peace to read your book!

“A visit to the nile”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

The most thing to note is the encredible view of the nile and the weather is extremely pleasing in the afternoon, i avoid evening times because it is rather dark and lots of mosquitos.. the food is okay but quite expensive.

“overpriced but on the nile”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

It was ok. The only place where they will ask you how you want your steak done. But really, it comes the same way no matter what. It's extremely expensive, even for Juba, for mediocre food.

“Scenic and a great place to relax”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Da Vinci in Juba, South Sudan is a great place to sit down and have a drink. It has both opened and closed areas for good and bad weather. The location of Da Vinci is perfect, right by the Nile where you can see fishermen's boats floating by and surrounded by lovely green mango trees. There is also a live band that plays wonderful music every night. They serve a variety of food - from sushi to steaks to pizza.

The only downfall of Da Vinci when I was there was that they were out of seafood. They said it was because they were unable to import any fish for the few weeks. My colleague and I also ordered gin and tonic, but they had no tonic (even though everywhere else in Juba we were at, all restuarants had it) so gave us gin and lemonade instead. We stayed for dinner, and shared a vegetarian pizza together. It was okay, but not great. The one thing I thought was lacking in the menu was some traditional South Sudanese dishes (even if it was just beans and rice!). The restuarant does normally cater for expants, aid workers and tourists though so I can see how this influenced their menu.

All in all, good place. I would recommend to stop by there if ever you are in Juba!
